About this Cook
My cooking tragedies
Cooking tragedies? Hm there are indeed a few. Foremost in my mind is the most recent: The great cookie tragedy of '99. I and a friend spent days planning, shopping, baking, decorating and fretting over our perfect Christmas cookies. I was on such a baking high that the finished goodies no longer fit in my basement freezer, so I put them on the balcony where I knew they would stay fresh (and I could admire the lovely decorated cookie tins daily). But the weather in Switzerland, and in Central Europe for that matter, is fickle and the winter of '99 brought several inland hurricanes with it. After a particularly stormy night I awoke to find that my hard work had been swept up and scattered - all over the neighborhood. Only a handful of cookies remained. I now keep them safe and sound and let my family consume them as soon as they are made!

Vegan Red Lentil Soup
Fantastic recipe even without the squash.

Creamy Parsnip With Ginger Soup
This would have been a great soup had it not turned out so sickeningly sweet. If I make it again, I'm going to add a potato.

Creamy Chicken and Rice Soup
Good taste but really stodgy. Probably will not make this again.
