Pumpkin Gingerbread

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
I've been making this recipe for a couple of years now, but kept forgetting to rate it. It is the perfect balance of spices and always moist. The best part is the way it makes the house smell while it baking! Thanks so much for sharing.

Spiced Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
This was so declicious and so easy to make. I did what a couple of others suggested, used sweet potato and doubled the spices (except the cayenne). I forgot the salt and pepper, but didn't really need it since there was so many other flavors going on. Awesome recipe! Thanks for sharing!

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
I've been making them once a year, every year since 2005. I just finished this year"s batch of what we have nicknamed "Evil Mashers". They are so darn good you can't stop eating them! Add a stick of butter as well. At this point, why not? LOL

Aunt Carol's Spinach and Fish Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2006
I thought I had really messed this up. I forgot to save some of the spinach for the topping & ended up just sprinkling italian bread crumbs and cheddar on top. THEN it was taking a while to cook (I was using a thick cod)so after 40 minutes I removed the foil and broiled it on low for 4 minutes...I thought I messed it up but good! I was SO happy that it was actually delicious! I wanted to eat it all myself! Will make again & again! Thanx!

Crab and Swiss Quiche

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2006
Yum Yum! This is so easy and versatile. I can't wait to try different ingredients. I did add Lawry's salt and a pinch of garlic powder, as some said it was bland. I think I will try with phyllo cups as small appetizers...

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2005
I'm glad Chen can't keep a secret because this was awesome! It was my first prime rib, and it turned out perfect. Two points to make...1) Don't be intimidated by a $50 piece of meat. You and your meat thermometer are in control!... 2) Your house WILL smell like garlic. We love garlic so much we wish they had garlic scented candles...okay, maybe not, but I can't wait to make this again!

Salmon Spread II

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2005
Very Yummy! Brought this to a Christmas party and it was all the rave! I love this because you don't have to worry if somebody is allergic to shellfish. I did add garlic powder, and cut the salmon to 3/4lb. There will DEFINITELY be a next time!

Lemon Square Bars

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2005
These were sooo yummy! In fact, they were so good and easy to make, I thought I would make another batch while making cookies (how do people live without 2 ovens?) Anyway, I couldn't figure out why it was so much foamier than the first batch. Well, I wasn't thinking and used baking SODA instead of baking POWDER. I didn't realize this until it was too late! It was too funny! I guess sometimes God has a way of making sure we don't take ourselves too seriously. After all, it's just baking! :))

Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2005
I don't know. This soup took so much doctoring that the orignal recipe was just a shadow of itself. Thank you MMonsiegneur for the tips...they helped greatly.

Mexican Spiced Turkey Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2005
Holy...turkey! This is so easy and so yummy! Follow the recipe, use the boullion cubes. I forgot to buy corn, but had Mexican style corn, which was probably fate. DELISH! This is supposed to be a brothy soup, so if you are looking for something creamy, try CPK's corn tortilla soup. I did add cubed avacodo when serving, just like they do in Albuquerque...Will DEFINITELY be making this often.

Creamy Cheesy Mashed Potatoes

This recipe is AWESOME. Made it exactly as instructed. I tripled the recipe so I would have leftovers, and then pan fried the next day for my own version of Potato Pancakes! YUMMY!

Baked Spinach Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2005
LOVED THIS! I agree, it was much better leftover & reheated. I added gouda when I reheated it because if SOME cheese is good, then MORE cheese is always better ;) Oh SO easy, cheesy and yummy! Will definitely make again. Thanks for sharing!

King Crab Appetizers

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2005
I added 4 tbs. minced water chestnut for a little crunch and let the mixture sit in the fridge overnight. I was totally ready to take the other suggestions to put in phylo dough, but I tried it on a cracker first. I found that this is the crab spread I have been searcing for! With just a little bit of Trader Joe's cocktail sauce, this is AWESOME!
