Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2013
I don't understand how this recipe got so many good reviews. The proportions are way off, you need almost double the milk to make it spreadable. It taste like pure powdered sugar, way too sweet. It does look pretty after you tweak it to get it spreadable but it does not taste good at all. I just ruined half a batch of cut out cookies that I spent a couple hours baking. Also, if you try to stack them, the icing melts and they all stick together even if you put waxed paper between them.

This is an excellent guacamole recipe. I made it exactly as stated and it turned out great. I gave it 4 stars because I felt it was a little too salty. I will half the salt next time and will definitely make it again.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2011
These were so easy and fun to make! We used semi-sweet mini morsels because that is what we had on hand. I don't have a double boiler so we melted 1/2 bag (6 oz) of the chips and about 2 tsp. crisco in a glass measuring cup in the microwave. I heated it on high for 30 seconds stirred and heated again on high for only about 15 more seconds. Stirred it well and that melted it perfectly. We used wooden scewers and stood them in a tall glass to hold them. Melting the chocolate in a narrow container made it really easy to dip the strawberries. This made about 16 medium size strawberries. Great recipe....thanks so much!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
This was a good apple crisp. I listened to a few of the reviews that said to double the topping and I shouldn't have. It was way to sweet with double topping. Next time I would leave it alone and make it as stated in the original recipe...I did not add any water though and it came out fine, not dry at all.

Special K Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
I too found this recipe when looking for "Special K Chewies like they had at the Student Union at Indiana University (in the late 70's early 80's). Can't say enough how much we all love them. I am asked for the recipe everytime I take them to a pitch-in. We don't use any chocolate and I also use 5 cups cereal. I find Specail K cereal works the best for the right amount of "chewyness" (if that's a word). I have made these hundreds of times and they are always a huge hit!!!!
