Pumpkin and Sausage Soup

I'm very disappointed. This was a pretty bland soup. Maybe I did something wrong. I used maple syrup as suggested by others because I didn't have praline liqueur. I used two cans of pumpkin puree and at first 1/2 pound of andouille sausage. Because it was so bland, I ended up adding the other 1/2 pound of sausage. This helped to make it a little spicier, but something is missing and I'm not sure what. Maybe I should add another can of pumpkin puree. I was hoping it would have more of a pumpkin flavor. Maybe by reading all the positive reviews I was expecting too much.

Sugar Coated Pecans

These were really good. I did make a few changes like others suggested. I used half water half vanilla mix. Also, instead of white sugar I used dark brown sugar. I will make these many of times over using different spices and different nuts.

Red Pepper Soup

Very bland soup to me. I don't think it had enough red pepper flavor. I'm willing to try this recipe again but I will double the amount of peppers. I did do it a little different than recipe though. I actually roasted the peppers first and at the end of the dish I added crab. Only after adding another pepper (I had one extra on hand), SALT, cayenne pepper, rosemary and more black pepper did I think it was ok. I only wish I had more bell peppers. I gave this four stars because it has potential, but as is it only merits two or three stars.

Peanut Butter and Banana Smoothie

Tasty. I made a few changes. I froze my bananas first, use vanilla soy milk, and also added dry instant oatmeal (brown sugar maple), and skipped on the honey. Very filling breakfast on the go kinda meal. Yum!

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Was expecting more due to all the reviews, but just tasted like regular seasoned chicken to me. I also found it a little salty. Good flavor, but not very creative.

Chicken Papadoris

Had a good flavor. I felt something was missing, though I'm not sure what. I took advice from others and added more spice and did not use the cornstach. Instead I put the chunks of chicken in sauce and simmered it until it thickened. This way the chicken picked up some of the flavors as well.

Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili

I made a few changes. I used one can of ckn broth, I smashed two of the three cans of beans and I added two raw chicken breast and a half of pound of smoked sausage and I let it all cook in a crockpot for several hours. It came out very tasty. I left out the cayenne pepper and it was still nice and spicy. I served it over wheat rice. I've never had white chile before but to me it tasted alot like red beans and rice only it was white beans instead. Maybe it was the way I prepared it. Anyway my boyfried and I enjoyed it.

Broiled Chicken with Roasted Garlic Sauce

Not bad, but I wasn't that impressed. Tasted a lot like alfredo. I should have guessed that though by the ingredients. Was expecting more, but still not bad.
