Streuseled Zucchini Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2008
This is a really good recipe. I followed it pretty much exactly, but did use 2 eggs instead of 1 egg and 2 egg whites. Also put figs in instead of raisins. It baked up wonderfully and we really enjoyed this cake. I put a dusting of cinnamon in the frosting as well. Thank you!

Greek Honey Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
This is a great recipe. I have made it several times, and I usually double the cinnamon and add a dash of nutmeg. Sometimes (I'm an idiot) I begin assembling and forget that i don't have an orange. In this case, I substitute orange juice for the milk. Not quite as good but still delicious! Definately half the sugar/honey/water at the end, though. This is a dessert I crave frequently. Thanks!

Pam's Bierocks

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
Amazing! Not really as much work as it looks - once the bread is rising it is really a cinch. The dough is not sticky, either and we had very little mess. We browned the beef with 2 cloves of crushed garlic and added bell pepper, lots of chopped mushrooms, and 1 tsp caraway and 1 tbs oregano with the filling. Then added one can of undiluted cream of celery soup to the filling. I expected to have more of the 12 left over, but it was just so good we went back for thirds.

Stuffed Leg of Lamb with Balsamic-Fig-Basil Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
I have died and gone to heaven. This recipe is wonderful. The spices and herbs counter the sweet fruits quite well. I used finely chopped walnuts and cranberries for the stuffing in place of currants and almonds, and left out the mint (out of personal preference.) Changed nothing on the fig sauce! Delightful and a masterpiece. Thank you, thank you!

Orzo with Tomato and Fried Tofu

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2007
This is a great, easy recipe - very creative! Here are my suggestions: Use only one cup of orzo. For a nice texture, brown orzo to golden color in a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat, then pour in water and boil it. Brown tofu first in oil, then add onions and garlic. I also added shredded carrot and a chopped squash that had been languishing in the fridge. Mushrooms would be good, too. Fresh basil kicks this into high gear (love it with the lemon!), and don't skip the lemon or feta - these two things make this recipe great! If you don't like/have feta, fresh Romano is good, too. Thanks for a wonderful, beautiful, healthy dinner.

Rogan Josh, Lamb Shanks

Wonderful! I made this on a rainy, cold Sunday and it was perfect. I would not change a thing. This recipe is flavorful, but not spicy. It is well worth the wait- thank you!

Brunch Scones

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
Great recipe! It was quite easy to make. I used skim milk, but still had beautiful scones. Also used raisins in place of currants. After making the dough, I realized I was out of eggs! I used instead 1 Tablespoon of melted butter, 1 teaspoon each of cinnamon and sugar, and brushed the top before letting sit. They were wonderful, light, and very tasty. Thank you!
