Slow Cooker Au Jus Pot Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2013
Fantastic! The only thing I did differently was that I used some frozen pulverized tomatoes that I have from my garden (I am trying to use them up and didn't have a can of tomato sauce.) It worked out fine, but I would use the tomato sauce if I had it available next time. The meat was sooooo delicious, I kid you not. I will go to this recipe the next time I am making a pot roast...which will be soon, I'm sure, because everyone loved this one! Note: I did not need to cook it for 8 hours, because it was done way earlier than that.

Manicotti Alla Romana

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2009
I didn't even use the white sauce, but this was delicious and healthier than the way I usually make stuffed pasta (i.e. very cheesy)

Salsa Guacamole

Reviewed: May 18, 2009
I love guacamole, but had never made it before. This was SOOOOO easy. A kid could do it! I actually had green onions, so I used them. I was going to add cilantro, but mine had wilted, so I didn't. Truth is, I didn't need it. THIS WAS REALLY REALLY GOOD. I will make it much more often, now!

Orzo with Tomato and Fried Tofu

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2009
This is really delicious and you can adapt it to what you have in your kitchen or what you like. I used penne rigate b/c that is what I had. I can never seem to find orzo. I really liked the texture that the pasta brought. I had red onion available, but I think you can use whatever you have and this will still turn out great! If you have fresh basil (I didn't), I think that we be the most delicious. I also had an avocado on hand. (I never have avocados, so it was a matter of chance.) I put some fresh avocado on the top with the feta cheese, and it was AWESOME! You really HAVE to have feta to know how awesome this tastes. When I make this again, I will make it just the same (the tofu was delicious), but I may use a different type of pasta. I will go out and hunt down an avocodo, though, because it was OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING.

Honey Butter Yule Ham

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
Yum! I don't even like ham all that much...but this is easy and sooo delicious! My sister made it and she only added a small amount of cloves, and it is probably just as delicious with them.

Very good, but I had to stick a lot of toothpicks in to make it stay together.

Very good, but maybe storebought whipped cream would have worked, too.

Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

The cookie texture was more cakelike than I expected. I think the recipe needs a little tweaking to get it just the way I remember.

Everyone loves it...it looks so nice....I hate to tell them how easy this pie is to make--and how hard some of the non-favorites were!

Sweet Pepper Pasta Toss with Kale

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2007
Delicious! The feta cheese is the icing on the cake, so to speak. I added chopped zucchini, used fresh basil, extra garlic, and more than a pinch of cayenne pepper. Also, I added a little water to the vegetables after they had been cooking for a little while. I had never used kale before, but I will definitely make this again!

Chocolate Chip Cookies V

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2007
This was a really great recipe, and I made it with white chocolate, minty chocolate, nuts, etc. Here's the catch: I used 1/2 cup of butter instead of a full cup....Not on purpose....I made the recipe several times using the same mistake! The batter was so hard to mix, but it was worth it. Once I realized my mistake, I had to keep adding flour to get thicker cookies...I think next time I'll try the recipe with 3/4 cup of butter so that I get dense delicious cookies that are still soft and scrumptious! This is a very nice recipe!
