Round Steak Sauerbraten

Great flavor by doubling recipe and adding one brown gravy mix and one peppered gravy mix. I added sauteed mushrooms. Very good over noodles.

Salsa Chicken Rice Casserole

We aren't casserole lovers, but this one is VERY good. I boiled the chicken with Italian seasoning. I will use less cheese next time. I also only used cream of chicken soup and sour cream.(instead of cream of mushroom) A keeper!

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

One of my very favorite chicken soups. Important to use homemade chicken broth from the cooked chicken. I season my broth with Lawry's seasoning salt, pepper, and a little powdered garlic while simmering the chicken. I also think the additional vegetable broth gives it a great flavor. (I use Swanson's vegetable broth in a box). Double vegetables and add more chicken to this recipe! Top it off with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and dig in!

Beef Stroganoff III

Wonderful! We doubled this recipe for 8 people. Nothing left! Be sure to add fresh mushrooms. Very good with Light sour cream and an additional 1/4 cup cream cheese. I used a leaner cut of roast and used meat tenderizer before cooking it. After cooking meat and onions on the stove for an hour, I place it in refrigerator overnight. Next day, simmered on low in crockpot for 4 hours. Perfectly tender.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies III

My favorite chocolate chocolate chip cookie! Used semisweet choc. chips when melting. However, we prefer milk choc. chips to be added at the end before baking.

Carne Guisada II

WOW! I used 3 lb chuck roast and doubled the ingredients. I did quickly brown the roast first (about 3 mins on each side)before placing it in the crockpot on LOW. After 6 hours, I shredded meat and continued cooking for another 2 hours. The flavor is fabulous.

Refrigerator Rolls

Loved this recipe. I will decrease the water next time by 1/2 cup. I didn't have shortening so I substituted butter and veg. oil. This worked very well.

Chile Colorado

We decided this is the BEST chili we have had. (as did others!) Be sure to add cumin, garlic powder, onion for more taste. At the end of cooking time, we added 2 cans of dark red kidney beans (drained).

Libby's® Pumpkin Cranberry Bread

I found this bread to have a stronger 'nutmeg' flavor than other pumpkin breads. It is also more oily. Next time I will use cinnamon and the amount of nutmeg to my preference. I will also do 1/2 oil and 1/2 applesauce. I sprinkled choc. chips on top of one loaf during the last 20 mins. of cooking. I will definitely use this recipe again!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Camp Cornbread

A great recipe. Definitely cut back on the amount of sugar! I also baked this in a 9x9 pan because we like thicker pieces of cornbread. By doing this, I needed to increase the time it baked. Another option is to increase the temperature to 375 degrees.

Down Home Macaroni and Cheese

The best mac and cheese recipe I have found. My family doesn't care for the bread topping so I omit it. I add less velvetta cheese and more sharp shredded cheese. I also add more macaroni so the recipe isn't so liquidy. My kids who normally won't touch macaroni and cheese just love it.

Banana Pudding IV

Great recipe. My only change would be to make it with 1/2 banana pudding and 1/2 vanilla pudding. I would like for it to have more 'banana' flavor without the artificial banana taste that some banana puddings have. I will also add more wafers next time. There is a lot of pudding! Family loved it.

Chili I

Excellent! We enjoyed the small cubed steak mixed with ground chuck. Everytime I reheat it, we can smell the beer! Used Negra Modelo and it was wonderful for this recipe. Will definitely cut back sugar next time because it is pretty sweet. Used up to 3 cans of kidney beans.

Gourmet Chicken Pizza

I used half of 'Jay's signature pizza crust'. I also bought a very flavorful rotisserie chicken, using a part of it for this recipe. I only used mozzarella cheese--our family's preference. I also added mushrooms. My family did not care for the green onions. Next time, I will use onion powder and a thin layer of pizza sauce to go over a thin layer of ranch dressing. I think it would jazz it up a bit. A great recipe from which to work.

Buffalo Style Chicken Pizza

Made this today. It was one of three pizzas my family ate. Wonderful! A favorite among many of us. My husband said "Take a picture of that one, it looks great!" I used half of 'Jay's signature pizza crust' for the crust. I also used much less blue cheese salad dressing. Frank's Buffalo Wing Sauce worked great for this. I think one trick is buying a really good rotisserie chicken. The flavor of this chicken will add alot to this pizza. I baked the crust for 7 mins. prior to adding the rest of the ingredients on top. I then continued baking for 10-15 more mins.
