Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
Yum! I can't wait to make this again! I did sub the Hoisin sauce for Plum Duck sauce because I couldn't find a gluten free Hoisin, and also ground turkey for beef. Since I'm not sure I've had Hoisin I can't say how much it changes the overall taste- I just know it was delicious! Also yummy over brown rice :)

Creamy Tortellini Carbonara

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2011
Pretty good! I did however, use the new Philly Cooking Creme (Italian Cheese and Herb), because I couldn't find the herb & garlic cc. Also subbed crumbled bacon for ham and halved the peas. I used a 20oz package of tortellini and it was the perfect amount of sauce. There are a lot of possibilities with this recipe!

Sausage and Zucchini Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2011
Delicious! I made a couple substitutions based on what I had on hand- no ricotta so used cream cheese(not a perfect substitute but it's still tasty- cottage cheese would be a better sub), lower fat mozzarella and sausage, organic pasta sauce (lower sodium) and whole wheat noodles. I also added garlic to the sausage/zucchini. If it was this good with the healthier substitutions I bet the original recipe is to die for!

Simple Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
Very good. Possibly the best I've ever had! It works really well with ground turkey. I only used one pound of meat and cut the onion and tomato paste by half and came out with the perfect amount of sauce, so I would probably double the tomato sauce, ketchup and brown sugar if I made a full. I added a big splash of Worcestershire and a half of a chopped bell pepper to the meat as it cooked. Toss a buttered hoagie bun under the broiler for a few minutes, add a bit of shredded cheddar and your meat and it's perfect!

Pizza Crust Fantastico

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
Great, tasty crust! It was quite sticky to work with, I wound up adding a cup of flour while mixing it, and then maybe another 1/4 while kneading to keep it from gluing itself to my fingers. Whatever you do, don't forget the tomato sauce- it will taste very, very floury (but very easy to work with!) Next time I will try cutting the tomato sauce a bit and not adding extra flour and see what happens.

Chili Barbecue Chops

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2006
Loved it! I used Sweet&Zesty BBQ sauce with Zesty Italian Dressing and I wish there had been leftovers! I used a full cup of sauce as marinade and then made an additional 2/3 cup to cook with since I used large chops.

Steak Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2006
It was alright, the meat was a little bland. Next time I will marinate the steak and add a touch of sweetness to the sauce (or just use storebought sauce instead).

Southwestern Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2006
Delicious! I changed a couple things, just to fit my family's preferences- flour instead of corn tortillas, a sprinkle of cayenne in the meat mixture, and a colby/monterey jack blend in the layers, and a taco cheese blend on top. Will definately make this again!

Marie's Easy Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2006
As suggested, I doubled the carrots but ran out of room in my crock pot so I couldn't double the potatoes! Made mashed potatoes on the side instead :) Great recipe, first time making pot roast and it was delicious!

It was OK, nothing special. I thought it tasted a bit bland, and the kids didn't like it at all!
