Day Before Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
I hate, hate, hate to do potatoes, and was disgusted when we got 'assigned' them for our big holiday dinner.... but this recipe (and my daughter!) saved the day! She made them the night before and everyone raved about them!

Barbecued Beef Brisket

My family LOVES this recipe! I followed the recipe to the 'T', except I put the crock pot on low and let it cook all day while I'm at work. The sauce is heavenly!

Cheesy Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2008
I've made this recipe 3-4 times now with all kinds of variances on which hashbrowns to use... although we have enjoyed it every which way, our favorite is with half regular hashbrowns and half o'brien... a huge hit at our holiday gatherings, but simple enough for those sunday dinners!

Juicy Pork Chops

These turned so juicy and tender! I didn't even marinate them for more than a 1/2 hour or so... a great quick meal!

Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2007
I've used this recipe 4 times already! If you times it by 1.5, it makes the PERFECT amount for 2 deep dish pies. I used Kahlua instead of bourbon and got rave reviews from family, friends and coworkers. The first time, I made it exactly like directions (with Kahlua exception) and it was too chocolatey, so the next few times, I used 1/2 and then 1/3 the chocolate... the best was with the least chocolate, although I do think the chocolate adds/accentuates flavor, so don't leave it out altogether. Overall, an EXCELLENT recipe - I will use over and over and over!

Local Kine Wontons

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
My family loved these - even left over... although they did lose a little crunch, so I'll try the freezing next time. I will also leave out the water chestnuts. But really good!

Seattle Cream Cheese Dogs

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
Oh, my goodness! You can add anything you want to these or just eat them with only the onions and cream cheese (my favorite) and they are great... my family likes them with regular jumbo hot dogs over sausage/kielbasa... we've tried both ways. SUPER!

The Munroe Melt

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
I don't know if I'll make these again, but if I do, I'll see how they turn out with the tomato put on after the broiling... the heat of the oven just got those juices going, so that half of the bread was soggy and gross. We ended up pulling the topping off and eating them with a fork... the flavor was very good, though.

Cheesy Beef and Bean Bake

The only thing we changed was we doubled the recipe (all except the potatoes - we left that amount the same) and it turned out PERFECT! Hubby and kids all said it's 'comfort food'. *Ü*

Farmhouse Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2007
My 12yo daughter actually made this because she wanted a turn making dinner. She used frozen chicken breasts, cooked them up with some sauteed onion, adobo seasoning, salt and pepper; then cut them into small pieces... because she added the fresh onion, she eliminated the dried onion and celery. Although we never tried it the 'original' way, my family LOVED this recipe... and we will be having it again and again!

Pumpkin Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2007
My husband and change don't go well together - but he LOVED this recipe - we ALL did, even my kids. I did take the other reviews' advice and added spices, beans, chicken stock, and I doubled the tomatoes, but will probably triple them next time because I really like those chunks in there. But this recipe was an instant hit and will be made over and over in our home!
