Jam Muffins

Reviewed: May 25, 2015
Will definitely make it again. Easy, tasty. Followed the recipe closely in terms of action and ingredients. Used Trader Joe's raspberry jam, baked it for 25 minutes at 325. Best part was I had all the ingredients in my pantry/fridge and the execution was so easy I could do it 9 months pregnant with my three year old helping.

Dream Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2012
I thought these bars were an awesome, quick sweet to make with simple ingredients and simple execution. I was very happy with the aesthetics of my bars, which ultimately wasn't important since they were eaten so quickly. My last comment is that I was nervous I hadn't cut the butter in well enough for the crust because after the first baking, the crust was still crumbly, but after the filling was poured on, the crust came out perfectly.

Pasta Broccoli Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2011
Thought this was a pretty good mac and cheese and veggies recipe. I always forget to get my mise en place before I start the roux. Then, I was scrambling to drain the broccoli as my roux was at a critical point. A few additions: thawed frozen spinach, and a can of small white beans for some protein not from cheese. The beans practically melted into the cheese. Delish.

Margaritas on the Rocks

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2010
This is my favorite margarita recipe. I actually have it memorized. Now when I think of margaritas, I think 1, 1.5, 0.3, 2. I just have to remember which alcohol goes with which amount. Thank you!

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
Awesome. I ended up squeezing water out of the zucchini between two layers of paper towels. By the time we got to the table, only 1 or 2 were left. My boyfriend sneakily ate several, and then took a few to his father next door. Also, I love the floavor of Old Bay on anything. It reminds me of my time spent in Delaware. Thanks for the recipe.

Lentils and Rice with TVP

Reviewed: May 12, 2008
Good idea, but there was too much water as the recipe goes. The flavors were awesome. However, the only thing I added was a splash of vinegar to brighten the flavors a little. Otherwise, play with it, but use this as a starting point. Also, you could put more TVP in it, you can barely tell there is any in there.

Egyptian Koshari

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2008
I tried this recipe, but followed other reviewers suggestions than the printed recipe. Although I've tried a variety of Middle Eastern and other recipes, this one looked very strange and I was reluctant, however, it was wonderful. The olives made it spectacular, and I ate it almost bite for bite with salad and olives. Great dish. It makes me want to travel to Egypt! Thank you!

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2006
Super tasty, everyone asked for the recipe. I used the Polaner All fruit preserves, so it wasn't too sweet, just perfect.

Triple Layer Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2006
These were so good, everyone asked for the recipe. However, I used a slightly larger pan so they were thinner, and I can image that helped in the sickeningly sweet department. My friends and family suggested I try to sell these bars they loved them so much. Don't worry, if I did sell them, I would credit Allrecipes.

Karen's Creamy Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2006
We thought this pasta dish was yummy, although we ommited the sausage at the beginning, and threw in three quarter pound of shrip at the end. I didn't have a can of crushed tomatoes, and so I tried to food process a can of diced tomatoes. If anyone ever tries this, please, please drain the tomatoes first. Whirling tomatoes creates plenty juice. THis was a great basic recipe though. Thanks.

Cheryl's Spinach Cheesy Pasta Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2006
Pretty boring, but easy. There is so much cheese, I don't think you can even begin to call it healthy.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2006
Very tasty, but really too much butter. Maybe that is what makes it taste so good, though. I will make it again

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2006
Very good. After a day, it was rather dry, but still tasty. I used only half the cilantro, and it was still very strong. I will definitely make it again.

Giant Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2006
I thought it tasted great and was a filling dinner. My only trouble was that it made a little too much mixture to stuff my mushrooms, I ended up eating just the mixture for lunch the next day. I did think it needed something extra, so I added a sprinkling of feta before baking. Also, I did not add cilantro, as I agree that 1 cup of onions makes more sense than 1 cup of cilantro in this recipe. But, overall, I was impressed, inspite of the negative reviews it was given.

Chicken Gruyere with Sauteed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2006
I made this with fake chicken from Morningstar farms and it worked out quite well. The sheer amount of cheese was very greasy, but very French.
