Zippy Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2014
This was delicious!I substituted only because I didn't have on hand: Beef "Better Than Bouillon"/water for Beef broth, chopped parsnip and fresh peas and carrots for frozen,1/2 t curry + 1/2 t tumeric for 1 t curry. The reduction in curry, as my husband's not a fan.I think the addition of the parsnip and tumeric gave this a mild sweet flavor

Pfeffernusse Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2012
After trying dozens of recipes over the last 10 years, I have finally found it. My husband says these taste just like the ones his german mother used to make. As suggested, I used butter instead of margarine and doubled the pepper- which turned out to be too much. Will make it again using less. I glazed with 2 T milk, 1 t anise extract and enough powdered sugar to make a glaze that I could dip the tops into. PERFECT!!! Thank you thank you

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2011
Wow. Made this for Thanksgiving and it was the first dish out. I did add a little more broth as it only covered the potatoes 1/2 way up, but I think it would have been fine if I had left it as is.

Cooky Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2011
These are very good. I followed the previous suggestion and used just 1/2 c veg oil and 1/2 water. Next time I will try without the water and see what happens as there seems to be enough liquid without. I'll consider leaving the nuts out also. There's enough crunchy texture with the oatmeal, cereal and coconut. The cookie also spread nicely without having to flatten it and had a nicely browned cracked top after baking 10 minutes.

Chinese Restaurant Almond Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
It was a bit "eggy" so the next time I baked these, I just used the egg white only and also omitted the salt. No almonds in my pantry, so I used the end of a chopstick to dab a dot of red dye on the top. I also used a 1 inch size scoop instead of hand rolling them. They came out so light and crisp! I give these out as homemade Christmas gifts with the recipe attached since I am always asked to make them.
