Teriyaki Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2015
I feel bad I'm only now getting around to writing a review for this recipe - I've been making this now for about 5 years and make it so often! I don't change one single thing in the recipe, and it is perfect. Family and friends agree that this is the best marinade for pork tenderloin. The longer you let the pork sit in the marinade, the better... Oh, I do have to say I've made it in the oven (as the recipe calls for) and it's wonderful, but try grilling the pork - it's even better when grilled!

Baked Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2015
I'm giving this recipe 3 stars because I had to modify the original recipe. It's 5 stars with modifications... When I first made the recipe exactly as written, I found it to be a little on the greasy side with all the butter. After reading the reviews, I took some other's advice and dipped the chicken nuggets in faux buttermilk (actually skim milk with some vinegar) and then used the trick of baking them on the cookie cooling rack. They turned out perfectly. My husband even liked the flavor of the nuggets "as is", without dipping them in bbq sauce, which is a first for him!

Incredibly Cheesy Turkey Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2015
I loved this recipe, but I'm only giving it 4 stars because I altered it quite a bit to achieve the result I wanted. I added a half packet of Lipton onion soup mix (I know, I know - lots of sodium but I don't add any salt that way) and also a dash of hot sauce (we like things spicy in my house). Also I shaped the loaf into a "meatloaf" shape, but placed it in a cake pan so that if it dripped and oozed it'd drip back into my pan. Oh, and I used shredded cheese rather than cubes.

Apple Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2015
I did not add nuts (personal preference) and halved the recipe to make only one loaf. Also I took another reviewer's suggestion to use 1/2 white and 1/2 brown sugar; also added a little extra chopped apples. We were blown away with how good this apple bread was!

Best cookies I've ever had! Cut back slightly on the cocoa powder but that's the only change I made.

Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2014
We love love love this recipe - thanks pathunt for submitting it! I've made it several times now and kept forgetting to write my review for it. The first time I made it I followed the recipe exactly and although wonderfully tasty, it was just a tad watery/soupy for my family's taste. So now when I make it I simply don't use as much water (I eyeball the amount). Wonderful!!

Kris' Lentil Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2014
Made this soup last night because I didn't have much in the pantry and needed a dinner idea. I used bacon instead of kielbasa (only because I didn't have kielbasa) and I didn't have celery so that was omitted as well. I added some thyme and paprika (dashes of both) and a tablespoon of vinegar as per other's suggestions. I halved the recipe (I only had 1/2 pound of lentils on hand). My husband declared this is the best lentil soup I've made for him, which says a lot as I've used several different recipes - including a "copycat" recipe for Carraba's lentil soup!

EZ Peanut Butter Pie I

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2014
The whole family loved this! I put the filling in a ready-made graham cracker crust; we also melted milk chocolate chips and swirled the melted chocolate around on top before putting in the freezer. It was SO very easy to make and great on a hot summer's day. YUM!

Luscious Lemon Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2014
My cake was not moist at all; in fact, I found it to be drier than if I had just used the cake mix itself and followed directions for that. The glaze did nothing at all for the cake except made it sticky and WAY too sweet. I thought the glaze would make it moist, but it seemed to make it drier (sticky) where the glaze was!

Beef Nacho Casserole

Reviewed: May 13, 2014
Made this exactly as written and it was a hit with my husband and stepdaughter. I was sooooo tempted to replace the Miracle Whip with sour cream, as it just seems to make sense, BUT I wanted to try the recipe as written. I'm glad I didn't alter the recipe because we all agreed the Miracle Whip definitely added something special to the flavor - a zippy tang that was unexpected! I did serve with sour cream on the side so hubby could add some on top. Also, I love how easy this recipe is to make!

Waffles I

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2014
Wonderful recipe! I have to admit I was too lazy to get the hand beater out to beat the eggs (I just whisked them up with a fork really well), but man these waffles were awesome. They really tasted great and everyone in my household loved them. What I love is that they don't have a lot of sugar and so they didn't taste terribly sweet like some waffles do. I made a full batch and saved the leftover cooked waffles in the fridge, then popped them in the toaster the next day for breakfast and I believe they were even better crisped up in the toaster the next day! Thanks for submitting this recipe!

Butternut Squash Risotto

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2013
If I could give this 10 stars, I would. OMG this was amazing. I didn't change a thing - the recipe is perfect as is. My husband thought perhaps a little bit of cayenne (we both like heat) would be a good addition, but I disagree. I think that would take away from the butternut flavor. You won't be disappointed in this dish - it's WONDERFUL WONDERFUL WONDERFUL!

Honey Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2013
Made this for my family last night and it was a hit. Yes, the sauce is thin, but that was fine with us because it was soooooo tasty. I baked 3 medium sized chicken breasts as directed at 350, and it took roughly 50 minutes to bake. The chicken was so moist and tender - perfect! My stepdaughter especially loved this dish and was spooning the sauce generously on the chicken. I served with sweet potato fries because I thought the sauce would be great for dipping the fries into (it was). Thanks for a great recipe! Will definitely be making this frequently.

Russian Mushroom and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2013
Loved this soup! Made it exactly "as is" EXCEPT I didn't have any leeks at home so I used finely chopped onion. I think a leek would be better, but the soup was still awesome using a regular old cooking onion. This is a keeper!
