Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2011
This turned out oh-so-yummy! I mixed salt, pepper, and cumin into the flour before I dredged smaller, bite-size pieces (I have younger kids) of round steak in it. Then I browned the beef in oil, slipped in a couple tbls of butter, and added some minced garlic and chopped onion. I followed others recommendations by adding beef bouillon to half of the water and then simmering for 2 hours before I stirred in the vegetables. I turned up the heat a little and used the remaining flour to thicken it up. I will keep this recipe!!!

Molasses Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
I just made these tonite and they are amazing! I went a little heavier on the molasses (just emptying my jar), and I did not chill the dough (no patience). I do have to say, I greased the sheet, but there is so much oil in these, that I think you could skip it. Incredible! I can't wait to enjoy one with a cup of coffee!

Popcorn Cake II

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
How absolutely fun! I needed a quick and easy dessert for my family Christmas tonite. This one was perfect! I used the red and green M&M's and the red and green gumdrops. I left out the peanuts because my niece and sister-in-law are allergic. I drizzled it with white chocolate and sprinkled it with Christmas-colored sugar crystals. Very festive and kid-friendly!

Cheddar-Thyme Flaky Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
These are so yummy! I did as someone else suggested and added a little more milk and made drop biscuits. Light & flaky! My 8 year old ate 3 of them!

Bill's Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
I made this exactly as written, only we poured it over hash browns with our brunch this morning. My hubby and 2 sons LOVED it! Thanks for an easy, yummy recipe!

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2009
These were delicious! I used the Country-style Ribs so we had a lot of leftovers, which worked out perfect so I could make Pork Stew. I love living out of my crockpot on my busy days! Thanks for a great recipe!

Condensed Milk Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2007
This is sooo good! And super easy too! I was limited on ingredients for frosting, but had all of these. I took others suggestions and used semi-sweet baking chocolate - added 3 oz total. When it thickened, I removed it from the heat, stirred it for a couple of minutes, then stirred in the vanilla, stirred it for a couple more minutes, & then poured it over my 9x13 cake. It was fantastic! Thank you for this yummy and easy recipe!

Lower Fat Banana Bread I

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2006
This was very moist and yummy! I needed extra, so I doubled the recipe adding a total of 6 bananas, eliminating the water, and adding cinnamon, ginger and allspice like others suggested. Very good!

Mushroom Rice

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2006
I made this for 60 people as a side dish at our church's annual Sweetheart dinner. It was good, but not excellent. I wish I had played with it more. Needs more seasonings. Good one to play with. Will keep trying.

Garlic and Tomato Tilapia

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2006
This recipe really has to be tweaked. I liked the fresh tomato flavor, but the overall flavor was really lacking. Next time I'll add butter and garlic salt. My husband normally doesn't have anything bad to say about my cooking, but this one he didn't like.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2006
This was very yummy, but, for those who use Paula Red apples, I would recommend decreasing the cooking time by about 30 minutes. I eliminated the water and my apples were still mushy...more like applesauce. I'll try again.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2006
These were fantastic! I had to add an extra step because my hubby likes his wings falling off the bone. After I deep fried them, I baked them in the oven for an additional 15 minutes at 350. This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Double Chocolate Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2005
I love these! The only change I would make next time is to cut them 15 minutes after removing them from the oven. They were too crumbly after waiting an hour.

Bechamel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2005
This is really good! I omitted the cilantro and peas (didn't have any), and added a can of diced tomatos with roasted garlic for chunkiness. Made great leftovers!

This was very good. I used a combination beef/pork roast cooked at 325 for 3 hours total. It was very moist and fell apart.

I made this without the lemon juice (I didn't have any) and it was mmmm mmmm good! My husband made sure there were no left overs!
