About this Cook
I have been happily married for 10 years and I have two sons.
My favorite things to cook
Everything! I LOVE trying new things! I'm always looking for quick and easy recipes - in the winter, I love my slow cooker and slow roasting. In the summer, I'm always grateful for the grill.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Anything goes these days. If it's quick to make, I'll try it at least once.
My cooking tragedies
I thought I would try to "slow roast" some spare ribs by throwing them in the oven before I went to church. They were like raw hide when we got home.

Beef Stew IV
This turned out oh-so-yummy! I mixed salt, pepper, and cumin into the flour before I dredged smaller, bite-size pieces (I have younger kids) of round steak in it. Then I browned the beef in oil, slipped in a couple tbls of butter, and added some minced garlic and chopped onion. I followed others recommendations by adding beef bouillon to half of the water and then simmering for 2 hours before I stirred in the vegetables. I turned up the heat a little and used the remaining flour to thicken it up. I will keep this recipe!!!

Molasses Sugar Cookies
I just made these tonite and they are amazing! I went a little heavier on the molasses (just emptying my jar), and I did not chill the dough (no patience). I do have to say, I greased the sheet, but there is so much oil in these, that I think you could skip it. Incredible! I can't wait to enjoy one with a cup of coffee!

Popcorn Cake II
How absolutely fun! I needed a quick and easy dessert for my family Christmas tonite. This one was perfect! I used the red and green M&M's and the red and green gumdrops. I left out the peanuts because my niece and sister-in-law are allergic. I drizzled it with white chocolate and sprinkled it with Christmas-colored sugar crystals. Very festive and kid-friendly!
