Classic Waffles

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
I made these and they were terrible. I usually use the Waffles I recipe which is pretty good but not as crispy as I'd like so I thought I'd give this a try. Bland, soggy and tastes like baking powder (and yes I did mix well before pouring in the liquid ingredients). YUCK.

Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2010
I didn't use onions and mushrooms because I didn't have any. I deglazed with white wine and added milk to the cream of mushroom mixture. Not very sophisticated looking or tasting but pretty tasty. Best thing is the toddlers gobbled it up.

Naan

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
The flavor of this is excellent but 4.5 cups of flour is way too much. My dough was extremely dry and did not rise much even after 4 hours. I think my house is too cold as well. Will try rising in an oven with a bowl of warm water next time and using much less flour.

Best Lemonade Ever

We used only 1 cup sugar and it was plenty for us. It was easy to make and very tasty.

Grilled Asian Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
Very simple recipe using ingredients I already have on hand. I used chicken wings, didn't pre-cook marinade and baked in oven at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Next time I will try using grated ginger and a light soy sauce. I will also marinate for longer to see if it gives it more flavor.

Waffles I

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2008
I like this recipe because you do not have to beat the egg whites separately. Not as good as when you beat egg whites separately but much less time consuming. I freeze them and pop them in the toaster oven before eating. Comes out crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I also doubled the vanilla and sugar since I like my waffles on the sweet side.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2008
I tried it when it was still warm and it was the texture of cake. Good thing I didn't write the review until after I had it room temp because it became a nice fudgy texture. Very easy to make and a nice rich chocolate flavor but not chewy enough for my taste.

Blueberry Coffee Cake I

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
Like everyone else, I'm rating on the changed recipe but it came out so moist I had to write about it. I used 1.5 cups flour, 3/4 cup milk, 2 eggs, and halved the topping. I also baked in a springform pan. It came out really dark and a little ugly but once I put the powdered sugar on it, it looked fine.

White Chip Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2008
I refrigerated the dough for a few hours before baking but the cookies still turned out flat. It may have been because I didn't cook them long enough (10 minutes). I then let it sit in the refrigerator for a couple of days and baked for 12 minutes and it came out a bit fluffier. I will try using more flour next time. The flavor was great. Everyone loved them.

Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
I'm going to be one of those that uses the changed recipe and raves about it. I did what everyone recommended - half water, half OJ, half brown sugar, half white sugar, dash of cinnamon, orange zest, and cranberries. It was fabulous. I mushed the cranberries with the back of the spoon after they popped. It gave it nice texture.

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2007
I made this in mini muffin pans. I substituted cheddar and egg beaters. Baked for 45 minutes and it was mushy, not dense like other reviewers. The flavor was really great but the texture was not. Perhaps I will use whole eggs next time.

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
Made this for a party with baked potato fixings (crumbled bacon, shredded cheese, sour cream, chives) and people loved it. I served it in a crock pot so it stayed hot the whole time. Every drop was gone by the end of the night.

I used half the sugar and still very very sweet. It tasted better the next day though.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Everytime I make these people rave about them. I give away premade cookie dough balls in plastic containers to my friends so they can have fresh warm cookies at home. They're always begging for more!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: May 19, 2007
I followed other's suggestions and used 3 cups sugar and 2 teaspoons vanilla since I was only using sugar sprinkles. Not too sweet, and nice and soft. I rolled out dough between two pieces of parchment paper and baked directly on bottom parchment paper. I also kept unused dough refrigerated between batches. Was not sticky or hard to work with at all. Will def use again.
