Garlic Butter Green Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2009
Mmmmm these were good! This is going to be my "go to green bean recipe" from now on. I made a few adjustments based on our tastes and what we had around olive oil instead of butter, frozen haricot verts instead of fresh green beans, two garlic cloves instead of one and the juice of a Meyer lemon instead of regular lemon juice.

Bran Flax Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
This is a great recipe! Most baked goods containing flaxseed or oat bran that I've tried tasted gross but these little muffins are delicious. I followed the recipe to the letter with the exception of substituting 2 tbsp of veg oil for applesauce. Also the recipe says it makes 15 muffins but my batch made 24...you won't hear me complain about that though!

Stacey's Fabulous Purple Potato Gratin

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
This was a great recipe, but I made some modifications. First, I didn't have any bacon so I left that out and sauteed 2 leeks and a shallot in a combo of butter and olive oil. Then I sliced a peeled apple very thinly and threw that in with the leeks and shallot. Next I used 6 purple potatoes sliced them really thin and coated them with flour. Then I threw them in with the leek/shallots/apples. I don't know if I used too much flour or what, but the mixture was still very thick even after adding a half cup of milk, I ended up using about a cup and a quarter of milk. Then I added cheddar cheese mixed it up really well, put it in a casserole dish, topped with breadcrumbs and baked at 400 for about 35 mins. MMMM Good! Thanks for the recipe Stacey!

Roast Chicken with Rosemary

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2007
I made this for dinner tonight and it was AWESOME! This is the first time I've ever made a whole chicken before, and I'm surprised that it turned out so well. For the most part, I stuck to the original recipe with the exception of coating the chicken with olive oil and sprinkling it with Lawry's seasoned salt, Lawry's seasoned pepper and garlic powder. This recipe is going in the recipe box..Thank-you for such a great recipe!

No Bake Cheesecake I

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2007
All I can say is YUM! This was awesome and easy to make. I adjusted the recipe a little bit to compensate for a few items I didn't have on hand. I used two tablespoons concentrated frozen lemonaid (thawed of course) instead of lemon juice, and macerated blueberries instead of strawberries. My husband and I both LOVED it and I definatley plan on making this again! Thanks for sharing such a great recipe!

Parmesan Chicken II

Reviewed: May 17, 2007
This is a great recipe. I made a few changes...a dash of paprika, Lawry's and bread crumbs. I used drumsticks and breast pieces...and the drumsticks turned out much better for some reason. My husband and I both loved it!

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2005
Love this recipe, and my husband loved it too. My mom used to make something similar to this when I was little. The only problem I had was keeping the cheese contained within the loaf. It oozed out while it was baking...other than that FANTASTIC! Thanks for a great recipe Doug!

Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2005
This was great...my husband loved it, but I did use some variations. First, I dredged the stew meat in flour, season salt pepper and paprika, then I browed it in a pan with olive oil and minced garlic. I added 4 cups of water but also added "Better than Base" which is basically a beef boullion. Everything else is pretty much the same with the exception of adding corn, I substituted celery. It was great, but next time I'm not adding worcestershire sauce, and also watch how long you cook the meat, I cooked it a little too long and it started to fall apart.
