Well, there's really not much to tell. I work for a pain management physician in Birmingham, AL. I just married the most wonderful man. We've been together for eight years now. I love baking, cooking, reading, listening to music, watching movies, and hanging out with my family.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite type of food to cook is Italian, but I also love homemade mac and cheese, and I love to bake.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom isn't really big into cooking, so we only have one tradition, which starts on Stirrup Sunday and continues through Christmas, which involves making a lot of Christmas treats like date balls, cookies, buckeyes, and of course, the fruit cake.
My cooking triumphs
Thanksgiving turkey! It was yummy.
My cooking tragedies
The one time I tried making chicken picatta. It was disgusting. It's a really simple dish, so I don't know where I went wrong, but I went really wrong.

Creamiest Rice Pudding
Oh my goodness, this is so yummy and so easy. The hour simmering time is a little time consuming, but it is so worth it. I will be making this often from now on.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes
So my fiance and I had this amazing potatoes au gratin dish at a local restaurant, and my goal here was to find a recipe that sounded as if it was pretty close to what we had there. This recipe is pretty close, having the same really creamy texture. I followed the recipe exactly this time, but next time I make it, I will definitely add more cheese. I also think that a sharp cheddar would serve better than the mild that I used this time. Also, I hate that it says salt and pepper to taste. I won't know the "to taste" part until after it's cooked, and this time it had nowhere nearly enough salt. I did add in five pieces of bacon crumbled mixed into the layers. That was tasty, but next time I think I will add more bacon. Great basic recipe though.

My Kid's Favorite Pork Chops
This was a pretty tasty dish. I was looking for something a little different from my usual pork chop entree, and this fit the bill. I wasn't wowed by it, but it was pretty good.
