Deviled Eggs I

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2005
Read the reviews and followed some suggestions to add to basics. More mayo, and added garlic powder, white pepper, spicy brown mustard and a bit of Old Bay. Then added chopped shrimp cooked in some olive oil. Sprinkled with Old Bay. They were gone in seconds - everyone loved them!

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2006
Made for my husbands b'day party, everyone loved it. iinstead of 2 cans of tomato sauce, I used on can and then one large can of diced tomatoes. I left out the green pepper and celery just because not enough time left, and I used way less chili powder then called for. This was a mistake - would have had a great "kick" to it if I had been more generous. Overall - great recipe!!

Jill's Summer Sangria

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2006
This was fabulous! Not one drop was left half way through our party. I added pears and orange slices. Other then that, followed the recipe to marinate the fruit (I probably let it marinate about 12 hours) and it was delicious and POTENT! Definitely 5 stars.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2008
Made for a party and everyone loved it! Used blue cheese dressing instead of ranch. Also used extra chicken which turned out to be best because it would have been too much cream cheese without more. Was so yummy - thanks for a great one!

Apple Raisin French Toast Strata

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
YUM, was great. I spread cream cheese on bread, then cut into cubes. Used 6 eggs, 2 apples, extra raisins and about 1.5 cup half and half, also added cinnamon and vanilla extract to the egg mixture. Took it to work and it was devoured!

Hash Brown Egg Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
Was really good, I used frozen shredded hash browns with green pepper and onion. Did not use meat. Used some extra seasoning - some salt and pepper. Then instead of paprika, I sprinkled Old Bay seasoning on the top. Made it the night before and baked in the morning. Yum.

Cucumber Slices With Dill

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2008
Awesome! Used half the sugar called for and added a bit more vinegar. Also used 2 tbsp of dried dill and a vidalia onion. Marinated overnight. Had to drain all the excess water before serving but the flavor was wonderful!

Texas-Style Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2008
These were great - my 8 year old step-son loved them! I made exactly as described though I only added 2 tblsp of Tabasco (it still had a nice kick) and I did drain some of the bean liquid. Yum!

Super Grouper

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2008
Great recipe but per other suggestions there is too much butter. Intead of garlic salt I just used garlic powder and I used Old Bay instead of paprika. Did not use the mayonaise and I baked for about ten minutes, brushed on the butter and then broiled. It was wonderful!

Salmon Fillets with Creamy Dill

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2008
I read the reviews and made a few changes per what people said. Instead of mayo, I used plain lowfat yogurt and dijon mustard. Did not have fresh basil but used dried thyme, basil, oregano and dill to make the sauce. Sprinkled the salmon fillet with salt, fresh ground pepper and garlic powder and spread the dill mixture on top. It was so good! I am glad we had extra sauce because I made roasted red potatoes and broccoli. My 8 year old step-son couldn't stop eating it and he loved dipping the broccoli in the extra sauce. Since it was yogurt and no mayo I figured he could enjoy a little extra and it got lots of green vegetable into him!

Veggie Lasagna Florentine

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2012
This was amazing, everyone loved it and went back for extras. Per other reviews I left out brown sugar, used ricotta instead of cottage cheese and wilted fresh spinach instead of using frozen. I didn't use a blender to mix the cheese/spinach. I used extra veggies, cheese and seasoning to my taste, but other than that followed the recipe. Will definitely make again!
