Pork Chops with Italian Sausage

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2008
I don't understand the hype. I put it over pasta and actually preferred the pasta. I think the pork was bland and dry (and I took it out of the oven 15 min early). I added a little more sausage and wine than called for. I wouldn't make it again but i liked the sauce it made, just not with pork.

Chocolate Walnut Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
I was skeptical while I was making these. The chocolate batter was runny and I didn't think it had set up well. Once they cooled a bit I stuck them in the fridge and I pressed a slivered almond on the top of each bar. They are quite small but so rich and delicious you wouldn't want them any bigger. Great flavor and so easy to make. This one a keeper!

Pork Apple Burgers

Misread the recipe and added too much egg. To compensate I added panko bread crumbs. Did not use pineapple. Lovely taste. Will probably make again.

Cake Mix Cookies III

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
Perfect cookies and so easy. Only got 30 cookies out of it and added a tbsp of water per reviews. Tried orange cake with chips swirled of white and dark chocolate. Unique taste but I'm just rating the recipe. Would like to try some other combos because the concept is fantastic.

Brown Sugar Brownies

I still thought they were a little salty. I think the nuts and chocolate really made it taste great though. Also the 8X8 pan was perfect.

Grilled Salmon Skewers

we might make it again but definitely grease the grill because the fish really sticks badly.

Tomato Sauce with Sausage

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2008
Almost perfect! I halved the recipe but put a whole can of paste and about 3-4 tablespoons of oil. I think there is too much garlic (and I love garlic) and too much onion. In my half a recipe I would use only a quarter to half an onion and maybe 3-4 cloves of garlic. It was delicious anyway.

This is hardly a recipe...it's more like an idea. It was fine.

Delicious!!!!! I halved the recipe but I didn't use a lot of sauce because I wanted to make it less fatty.

Big Cheeseburger Pizza

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2008
This was ok. We liked it well enough. We omitted the pickles. I don't think we will make it again. I would want it to taste a little different. Update: I couldn't stomach the leftover and threw it away!

I think we liked this but I can't really remember any details. Made June 2007 and posted pictures but forgot to review I guess.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2008
Fabulous texture and cooks evenly. I just wish I could make it more flavorful without adding spices. I used it with a buffalo chicken pizza topping and it was good. (mixed gorgonzola, cream cheese and peppercorn ranch dressing to make a sauce and added chicken cooked in hot sauce with onions to the top. topped with a combo of american and cheddar cheese- just a mixture of things I had on hand.)-

Chris' Bay Area Burger

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
We used bison and kaiser rolls instead of beef and buns. We also toasted the rolls on the grill and topped with American cheese. We aren't sure that if it was actually beef the taste would have been all that different. We did enjoy this however. We used a pound and only made 2 burgers but it could have been 3. 4 burgers only if you use small rolls.

Gyros Burgers

Omitted savory because I didn't have any. Made long skinny thin patties instead of burger patties. Used much less onion and commercial dry bread crumbs. Grilled them and served on grilled naan bread. VERY GOOD!!!

Shrimp Linguine Alfredo

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2007
Used fat free half and half and added a little cornstarch...I don't like parsley and the BF doesn't like lemon. Thought it tasted pretty good. Had no linguine so used thin spaghetti.
