About this Cook
I grew up on a farm and have always been cooking and baking. Even though I don't live on the farm anymore I still cook for all the help especially around turkey time when there are extra mouths to feed at the farm. I also bake for the farm market year round (in my spare time). I have three teenagers who are always hungry but who don't all like the same types of food. In addition to my job and many volunteer positions I still manage to keep my oven on all the time when I'm home baking or cooking from scratch. Thankfully my husband is easy to cook for.
My favorite things to cook
I bake (a lot) so I'm always on the lookout for new recipes (cookies, breads, pies, etc.) and since I work I'm always looking for recipes that are both healthy and quick -- what everyone wants.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to make some recipes that my grandmother used to make for me as a kid and when I make them it brings back such nice memories of her. My brother and I, along with a friend, have biscotti day once a year at my house and we bake from morning til night in the beginning of December to make something homemade to give along with our gifts.

Triple Berry Crisp
This recipe is terrific! The crisp on the bottom and the top make this unique and absolutely delicious. I made a large pan (approximately 10 x 15 inches) and I used three bags of frozen mixed berries (same types as in the recipe); each bag was 16 ounces. I used the berries in a semi-frozen state and used 4 Tbls. sugar, 1-1/2 cups butter and 1-1/2 times the other ingredients. This makes a lot of crisp mixture. I followed the baking instructions as written. I served this to many dinner guests and all loved it and asked for the recipe. This is moved into my "favorite" file. Thanks for such a great and easy recipe!

Zucchini Boats on the Grill
I made these zucchini boats with Pork Marsala from allrecipes.com tonight and it was a great meal. I followed the recipe by boiling the zucchini, scooping out and adding the other ingredients to the zucchini except for the olives and green chilies. I probably used a little too much jalapeno as I had to guess home many slices in a jar I had made up one pepper. Overall, though, the recipe was very good. I did not use my grill as it was out of commission at the time. After stuffing the zucchini boats, I put them in a baking dish and covered it with foil and put in a 350 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Very good recipe and very healthy. Thanks for sharing!

Pork Marsala
I thought that this recipe was very good and my family agreed. I made the recipe as is except that I added sliced onion and cooked the onion with the mushrooms and garlic. Prior to cooking the onions, garlic and mushrooms, I removed the pork to another dish. I made the pork earlier in the day and the cooked vegetables with the Marsala wine early as well and put them in the refrigerator separately until later. I then combined the meat and Marsala mix in a covered Dutch oven and heated them in a 350 oven until warm. Next time I will try this recipe with chicken. Quick and good recipe.
