My Canadian Friend's Bean Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2012
This soup was great. I love hearty soups with beans. I substituted sausage that i cut small with the casings still on The two big links in the pack from Hilshire farm, still turkey sausage though, but this recipe is good so you can keep it the same or add and substitute meats or beans and it is still delicious. Thanks

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
Everybody loves this cake and it gets eaten up very quickly. It is rich and I have used it several times. I have even used the lemon cake, with lemon pudding and lemonade instead of warm water. Delicious

Cucumber Sandwiches III

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2011
These cucumbers were a nice touch to a birthday party i gave my daughter. Took other suggestions and mixed cream cheese and sour cream, with tablespoon of mayo. Used a package of dill flavored ranch mix from hidden valley. My husband like the spread on french baguette, I used rye as well.

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
This Recipe is delicious the only problem i had was that the potatoes were not cooked enough in 1 hour in order to make the potaoes soft enough in the middle to blend in to a creamy mixture. So i tried blending it all together and mashing with a potatoes masher. I just put the mixture in a oven safe bowl and cooked for 20 minutes then blended again with a little more milk. extremely tasty!!!

Stuffed Cornish Hens

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
These came out beautifully. the bird was juicy and the rice was tasty as well. I left out the Mushrooms, and water chestnuts. I replaced the green onions with a regular onion and I used melted butter & poultry seasoning and salt and pepper on the outside of the hens. I should have used more cranberries I only put in 1/4 cup.

Conchi's Sangria

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2010
I have made this several times for family functions and it is a big hit, I always add 1 cup peach snapps, and 1 cup coconut rum to give it a little more Kick. We usually have it for birthdays and our family reunion. People always ask me about it, and want to know what is in it.

Five Flavor Pound Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2010
This is a heavily requested cake among my family and friends. I use lemon, coconut, vanilla, almond and butter extracts. I love that it is so moist. It really doesn't need a glaze or an icing, but you can if you want to.

Baby Food Cake II

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2010
one suggestion...One thing we did different is cook it longer about 45 minutes, so the edges are a little crispy but the middle was moist and the whole cake was completely cooked. I also use a cream cheese icing to top it off. My mother got a similar recipe from a coworker of hers but we only used apricot baby food. My cousins and friends always want me to make this cake for reunions and cookouts. It is a big hit, they love it with coffee too.

Best Bircher Muesli

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2010
My boys love this recipe. I make it all the time for them. I love it cold, they always heat it up. I use cranberries, diced apples and bananas, honey, cinnamon, and I mix coconut millk and regular milk. When i tell people what it is they always scrunch there noses up at it, but I used to get it at Corner Bakery and feel in love, also it is a hearty breakfast.

Plain Cake Doughnuts

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
I am giving this a 4 star review but almost gave it 3 stars. The golden doughnuts tasted pretty good. I must have done something wrong. I guess i let the grease too hot, but also the dough was hard to work with. It was too sticky and kept sticking to my fingers. tried to use a doughnut maker, but dough wouldn"t go thru it. I made a big mess, but the ones that didn't completely burn tasted pretty good. i used confectioners sugar on the outside. I'll try again, maybe!
