My head and a big rock. Which is which?
About this Cook
I've got my dream job right here at Allrecipes! Not only am I surrounded by people who love to share the good food they make--that explains the extra pounds I’m toting around--but I also get to talk to you about real world experiences of cooking and eating with family and friends. It's a subject close to my heart because I'm the only one who cooks at my house, so I know what it means to be a working mom trying to make meals for moving targets.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook anything that makes me close my eyes and say MMMMMMM! Then I can't see how much I messed up the kitchen.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family tradition is that I prepare meals and my husband cleans up after me. So far it seems to be working for us.
My cooking triumphs
My triumphant moment came when I made pancakes from scratch that were so good I finally got my son's permission to stop buying the pancake mix he used to prefer over mom's home cooking.
My cooking tragedies
When I was a kid I tried to bake a cake for my little brother's birthday. It was so bad in so many ways...I just hope he knows I love him more than that cake would seem to indicate.

Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus
Seriously easy and seriously good. Sure, the prosciutto seems to get a bit saltier when you bake it, but that's what cocktails are for.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries
I had to make these on-camera for a video thing, and they were actually easy peasy! Of course it all starts with the strawberry. Taste one and make sure it's good all by itself, because chocolate can only do so much. The other thing I learned is dry your strawberries before you dip them so the chocolate can stick to the fruit. You're welcome.
