Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
Good and easy. Adjusted amount of liquid to 2 cups and it sadly over-dried after warming up in the slow cooker for an hour. I'd bring more liquid when warming it up.

Lemon Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
Too fake tasting, no natural lemon coming through at all, even when using lemon pudding mix, 1/2 lemon juice instead of water and lemon extract in both the cake and frosting. Also, the lemon cake mix said it already included pudding. Not sure if that affected the baking time, but it took more like 40-45 minutes for 2 8" rounds.

Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2010
A friend of mine recommended these cookies, but I was a little skeptical that they were so easy. Nevertheless, I made them for a cookie contest at work and they won 1st place. I used dark chocolate Hershey kisses and these were the best cookies we've ever had! I did not roll the peanut butter "dough" in sugar, and combined with dark chocolate overall taste was not over-sugary like some have reported. I also put the kisses at 8 minute mark. They taste the most delicious when warm and chocolate is still gooey. When the chocolate hardens, you can microwave the cookies on high for exactly 20 seconds and the chocolate will melt, while still keeping shape. The dough does not get rubbery after microwaving.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
I don't really like meatloaf, but my husband does; so I made this for him a couple of times. Even though he is the pickiest eater you can find, he really loves this meatloaf - says it's nice and sweet and yummy. This is now my go-to recipe for meatloaf - I don't even attempt to make any other or modify this one. I did cut the brown sugar and ketchup layers in half though and put the other half on top - this makes it sweet with the first and last bite. Just make sure not to overstuff your pan with meat - I did that once and the brown sugar mixture on top leaked all over my oven.

Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
How can anyone like this?? I followed the recipe to a T, with the exception of using "healthy choice" chicken cream soup with less fat and there is enough salt in the dish to kill an army!! It is edible, but I might as well just cook from a box or a can - it was no better than opening canned chicken and puring the salty cream of chicken on top. Yuck! We definitely have a problem in our country if everybody likes this salty mess.

Golden State Mushroom Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2008
I cannot believe how simple, quick and absolutely delicious this soup was. I do not eat mushrooms except for in cream of mushroom soup - I guess because the taste is not as overwhelming. And this is by far the best cream of mushroom I've had. It's also the first time I ever cook anything with mushrooms and I'm really impressed with how simple and quick this was. I was expecting to have to simmer the soup for an hour or more, but in turned out beautiful and delicious in just 20 minutes. I used only half the mushrooms and half the sour cream, but used the full amount of milk and almost as much broth as it seemed to be getting too chunky. I also used bella mushrooms and mixed the soup at the end using an immersion mixer to make it a true cream of mushroom. SUPERB!

Absolutely THE BEST sauce! We were looking for a super easy recipe that would reduce the amount of sodium we eat. This was it! Never going back to store-bought sauce!

Fettuccine Alfredo V

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2005
I don't like cooking and always look for the easiest italian recipes. My husband and I LOVED this one (and he's very picky)! It tastes exactly like at Olive Garden! Good tip on tringle cheese: though a bit more expensive than one in cans/bags, it was well worth it. I used 16 oz of pasta and there was plenty of sause as is.
