Garden Fresh Tomato Soup

The only change I made in this recipe was to reduce the amount of sugar. For health's sake I only used one half teaspoon. I did not have a food mill, so I used a strainer. It worked very well. It had a great taste, but I had a few lumps when I added the mixture to the roux. I'm sure I could have smoothed it out in the blender. It is a good recipe and tastes similar to bought soup without the excessive amount of sodium. I never would have thought to use cloves, but that was just what it needed. Thanks for the recipe. I will make it again.

E-Z Drop Biscuits

A simple, easy recipe that would have been great had I not gotten distracted and burned the bottoms. They had a good texture with no rising problems. I used all whole wheat flour. Whole wheat flour may not be as stable as white flour, but I am health concious and used it anyway. Also, I did not add the cream of tarter as per the reviews. Next time I will keep a closer watch.

Zucchini Relish

I made this yesterday. I expected it to be crunchy and tangy, but it was soft and mushy. Sorry, but I didn't like it, although I love limes and zucchini. I gave it two stars for the ones who do like it and the ones who may want to try it.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

I read three pages of reviews before trying this recipe. I cut back on the sugar as was suggested by some. It was plenty sweet enough for me, but I may use the full amount next time for the kids. I used half whole wheat flour. In place of walnuts I used pecans. I didn't change enough ingredients to alter the results. It was great. By the end of the day there was not a crumb left. I will be using this recipe over and over. It is a good basic recipe. I am thinking...banana bread with this base. Definitely a keeper!

Roasted New Red Potatoes

A good basic recipe that is easy to customize. I have also used sweet potatoes with equally good results. You can add onions, if desired. Small, whole, blanched, peeled onions are great in this dish.
