Homemade Tomato Sauce II

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2005
I used tomato sauce instead of crushed tomatoes. The sauce is a little tangy but if you are using it with a very cheesy dish that is fine. I added more pepper to tone down the tanginess.

Stuffed Shells I

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2005
Very simple to make and very filling. I substituted ricotta for the cottage cheese. There was way too much cheese mixture. I recommend cutting it in half. I also added italian sausage to the spaghetti sauce.

Avocado Soup with Chicken and Lime

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2006
I used frozen chicken breasts, minced garlic and canned jalapenos and still this came out delicious. It had just enough spice and is surprisingly very filling. I might add another avocado next time, just for my liking.

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2006
Was a little bland for my taste, but I give it a 4 for the simplicty. I baked this instead of grilling and the honey kept the house from smelling so fishy.

Double-Cheese Meat Loaf

I love this recipe and always get compliments when I serve it. You only need a small pinch of oregano, but that's the only thing I changed.

Easy Rosemary Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2006
The texture of the cream of chicken soup is odd and overall it was bland, but very easy to make. You might want to add some garlic, but I doubt I'll make this again.

Amazing Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2006
I ran out of Mayo and used sour cream instead. I also added chili powder and garlic powder to the sour cream. Added a little parmesan to the bread crumbs and it all came out really great. Will definitely make again.

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2006
This was my first time making banana nut bread and it was delicious. I followed the recipe exactly and it turned out so moist and tasty. Everyone that had some said it was not too sweet or too bland, perfect! Beware, this is not diet food!

Pot Roast in Foil

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
This is so easy....I love it! Instead of placing in baking dish and foil I put this in a regular pot and cover it and its super moist and tasty. I usually cut up potatoes, onions, and carrots and put them around the edges of the pot roast. The natural juices and mushroom mixture makes them taste delicious.

Chicken Jambalaya

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
This was a great recipe and I only altered a little. I personally don't like tomatoes so I just used the drained juice from the can. I also added more cayenne for personal taste. This came out really really good, though.

Easy recipe and tasted great. Some people say their bacon came out a little soggy but I didn't have that problem at all.

Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
Used canned veggies and this still tasted great! I didn't have browning sauce nor could I find it at the store, but it was still great without. I also didn't add the rice to keep a little healthier. I did add a couple of bay leaves and thyme.

Fabulous Foolproof Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2007
I made a few changes...I cooked the italian sausage with a chopped onion and about 2 garlic cloves. I also used about twice as much sauce as the recipe called for. I also added 2 layers of mushrooms for my own personal taste. It tasted great, perfect amount of cheese and sauce. The reason I rate this is a 4 is because the "no-boil" noodles didn't taste quite the same as boiled noodles. The cooked fine but the texture was a little gummy. Next time I'll boil regular noodles and it will deserve a 5!

Was not a fan of the Italian Dressing and the sausage and mushrooms...the flavors just didn't go well together for me.
