Super Easy Stir-Fried Cabbage

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
Okay, I was a little wierded out by the thought of eating straight cabbage, but this dish is amazing! I also tried it with apple cider vinegar in place of the wine, and it's great either way.

Ginger Meatballs

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
We really enjoyed these as sandwiches. I used half the ketchup mixed with 1/2c V8 to thin it. I also added chopped garlic to the meatballs and skipped the dijon. Excellent recipe!

Dilled Garlic

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2007
Outstanding! 4 1/2 cups of vinegar was just barely enough for two pounds of garlic...Next time I'll probably use 5 cups.

I soaked the pork in the herbs, then pan fried it and served it with noodles and a creamy white gravy. OUTSTANDING.

Italian Teething Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2007
These are great! However, instead of messing with the very sticky dough, I just used a ziplock/pastry bag to make the cookies individually, then let them harden over night. Really tasty, and perfect for coffee!

Sweet Ham Recipe

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2006
I made this with a fresh, 5 lb ham...Wonderful! There were a few problems, though. There was way too much liquid at the end, and the rind cooked completely off. Also, it was so tender it was falling off the bone, which makes it hard to slice. I think next time I make this I will reduce the orange juice by half, and possibly knock an hour or so off the cooking time. Other than that, this recipe was WONDERFUL!

Mildred's Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2008
I added extra baking powder, thinking 1/4 tsp couldn't be enough...Believe me, it is. My pan almost overflowed. Cake is moist, heavy and sweet. Great recipe.

These were okay, but just a little too crunchy for my taste.

Stroganoff Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2006
Top notch kid/comfort food. Husband wasn't too thrilled with it, but the kids and I thought it was great. I upped the steak sauce to 1/4 cup, and deglazed the pan I fried the steak in with about a Tablespoon of red wine. Delicious. Not really a soup, though.

Quick and Easy Apple Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2006
This was pretty good; I added 1/2 tsp of allspice and 1/4c of raisins. Next time I will add more apple and cinnamon. Still, this was a nice little muffin.

Fluffy Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2006
This turned out very well for me. I only used 1 1/2 cups of sugar, though. I kept an eye on it for the whole 10 min and added a few drops of water or a few spoons of sugar when the texture looked funny. It turned out fluffy and GREAT. Goes really well with Vegan Chocolate Cake.

Gonzo Garbanzos

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2006
Love, love, LOVE this recipe; I used a tbs of bottled lemon juice, and doubled the cajun seasoning in lieu of the sazon(?) seasoning. I threw a little brown rice in and we had it for lunch; the kids loved it.

Ann's Sister's Meatloaf Recipe

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2007
My family enjoyed this alot! If you want the bacon on top to be crispy, as bacon should be, pan fry it a bit before putting it over the meatloaf. Also, I rolled about 1/4 c of chive cream cheese inside the meatloaf. It came out fabulously.
