Eileen's Spicy Gingerbread Men

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2013
This is a great recipe! I definitely had to knead more flour into the dough before rolling, but i expected as much. My little gingerbread guys held their shape perfectly, and the taste is delightful. I tripled the recipe and all worked out fine. I made royal icing from 3 egg whites, whipped into peaks, 3 cups powdered sugar, and some root beer extract to keep the spiced flavor. Enjoy!

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2012
I made this tonight, but used a can of diced tomatoes since i didn't have tomato sauce. I let it marinade for less than an hour before skewering and grilling. WOW! It's amazing!!! I'll definitelly be making this again for sure!!!

Crepes

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
I've never made homemade crepes before. I generally used a modified bisquik mixture in the past. But i am sooooo much happier with this recipe. I used egg whites, and melted margarine instead of oil, and it turned out great! I will use this recipe from now on. Yumm-Yumm!

Chocolate Caramel Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2009
I got a recipe very similar to this about 9 years ago. But mine called for sweetened condenced milk. This is by far the most requested thing i bake. And i bake a lot! The brownies are just amazing. Try this if you havn't already, it's worth the time it take to mix everything up. Instead of peeling oodles of wrapped caramels, i just buy the 10 bag of caramel bits at the store. I'll add 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk to the cake batter, and then add the rest of the can to the caramels and microwave and stir them until they are melted. If you melt them on the stove and the bottom burns, no biggie, you can use the burnt caramel anyway, it's all still amazing!

Sweet-and-Sour Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2008
This is just an AMAZING recipe! It is so delish! I have served this many times for company, and i have had to send the recipe home each and every time. It's such a different take on meat loaf, yet so unbelievably good. I would make this every single week if i could! YUMMY! Also, i never buy the onion soup mix, so i never add it. It doesn't take away from the flavor by ommiting it. Enjoy!

Grandma's Egg Custard Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2008
Amazing flavor! I wish i'd read the reviews about how to keep it from turning into a sweet egg dish though, lol! It wasn't creamy at all, very eggy and spongy. But i think i will try this again and pour my scalded milk in real slow next time. I can't blame the recipe for my lack of knowledge. :)

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
Wow! How anyone managed to cram an entire jar of PB and an entire cup of butter into a cookie recipe and NOT have it turn out all greasy is beyond me!! These cookies turn out so soft, and tender. Not flakey, not chewy, but just very tender. Delicious! This is by far the BEST pb cookie I have EVER had! It beats all the cookie store, and mall joints. This is a keeper.

Kristen's Awesome Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2007
I'm making this recipe now, and i have to say, this cookie is really, really good!!! I made them tiny, tsp size, and cooked for 12 min. They are wonderfuly crispy outside, and soft inside. Great flavor. I made it just as the recipe said for the first dozen have just cooked 2.5 doz more with mini chocolate chips (added another 2T water), and they are delish!! I have my 4-6th dozen with coconut, raisins, pecans, and choco chips. They are also very soft and chewy. All this tsp sized from ONE batch. WOO-HOO!!!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2006
Well, you gotta try a recipie that has over 3000 reviews. So i tried it and was definitely impressed. It's a very soft, though not cake-like, cookie. I used 2 1/2 c whole wheat flour sifted with 2 c all purpose flour. I mixed all the ingredients together except the pudding and chips, then eyeballed the batter to put half in another bowl so i could make 2 flavors. It worked well, nothing came out weird by eyeballing it, and not mixing things in the order it suggested. I used coconut creme pudding (NOT sugar free), and added coconut flakes to the mix along with 2 cups chocolate chips for one batch, then used butterscotch pudding and half butterscotch chips and half choco chips for the 2nd half. Since the recipie is very forgiving, i will definitely use splenda for the sugars and try all whole wheat flour (which didn't leave a whole wheat taste, it was just healthier for us). I think i will stick to full sugar pudding though, it seems like if i go sugar free i'll get a bad after taste. Also added salt and extra vanilla cuz everyone said to, so all in all my cookies were fantastc and much healthier for us! By using whole wheat flour it added fiber which is great to just wisk away the bad effects (fat) of the cookie! I lost a pound by eating 4 cookies and boocoodles of batter for dinner, lol! Happy baking!
