Beer Spuds

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2007
WOW!! Extrremely easy, and very, very good, even for a non beer drinker like myself. This was another night were hubby was bringing his co-workers home for dinner, I remembered this recipe, but I didn't have any of the "peppers" so I made everything except the peppers. It smelled soooooooo good, and the potatoes melted in you mouth. Definately a keeper, and next time I will try it with the peppers.

Chicken Tortilla Bake

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2007
Very impressive! The whole family loved it, even my 8 year old daughter who "thinks" she doesn't like mexican food (we are slowly changing her mind). What I did differant is only put in one can of green chili's (That was all I had) and only 2/3 cup of the chicken broth to make it slightly thicker as others had said. My oldest son said it tasted just like his favorite Chicken enchilada that he gets at that big fast food chain. He couldn't get enough. Will definately make again....Thanks

Amazing Italian Lemon Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2007
This is restuarant quality!!! Used only 1/2 cup butter in sauce as others did, and I didn't have any capers. Will be making this again that is for sure!!

Fried Chicken with Creamy Gravy

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2007
WOW!!! Hubby was soooooooooooo impressed, he said it tasted just like his mom makes, in fact he thought his mom did make it and sent it over, he couldn't believe that she didn't!!! Definately a keeper, will be making over and over and over, but next time without the gravy, the gravy was the only thing that no one really cared for.

Justin's Hoosier Daddy Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2007
Very good! I did as others did, and cut the broth in half, added a half can of beer, and I didn't have any Pinto beans, but I had Kidney beans, so I used that. I also didn't have any chili powder and it still turned out great. I browned meat and onions, then threw everything in the slow cooker on low for 3 hours. Hubby even asked me to save the leftovers which is "the" sign that he loved it!! Thanks

Neiman Marcus Cake II

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2007
My 7 year old daughter is obsessed with trying differant cake recipies. We found this one and everyone loved it!! I will say this, the cake layer is rather stiff, and was very hard for her to spread in the cake pan. I took over for her, so this is definately not really a kid friendly recipe to make, but is still very good!

Anniversary Chicken I

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2007
Well, I had almost finished making this when my hubby came home from work, but didn't come inside because he started to snow blow the driveway, when I went out to tell him dinner was going to be ready soon he said he wasn't that hungry. Well, the second he walked in the door he said-"Wow, it smells really good in here" and practically inhaled the chicken. I didn't change a thing except I didn;t have any green onions on hand, but I am sure thta they would have just added to the flavor.

Buttery Pan Rolls

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2007
These are very, very dense. They do not rise very much at all. If you do make these, i highly suggest you double the amount of yeast. My kid who usually eat 2-3 rolls each every time I make them in the bread machine, wouldn't even finish one. They tast pretty good, they are just very dense, and we prefer light and "fluffy" rolls

Mom's Ground Beef Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2007
I was rather pleased with this recipe. Although it looked a little strange to the kids, the loved it. My oldest son's buddy was over, and he even loved. I was out of chicken and rice soup, so I used a little chicken broth, and it still turned out great. I also didn't have a can of corn, so I put in 1 cup of Frozen sweet corn. I will definately make again.

Cheesecake Brownies

My 7 year old daughter has been asking for the brownies with the "white stuff" swirled in. This recipe was perfect, and was so easy, she made most of it. Tasted wonderful. This one is definately a keeper.

Crescent-Topped Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2007
Anything that my picky eater son will get a second helping of is good in my book. I would however probably add some kind of pasta to it next time as it seemed like it needed something more. I did not have any "packets" of spagetti mix, so I used 3/4th a jar of spagetti sause (also omitted the 2 cans of tomato sause because of no packets). Will be making again......Thanks

Taco Salad II

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2007
I have been making this recipe for years. It is always a crowd favorite, and I usually never walk away with any leftovers. I always use crushed doritos though, and pending on the size of the crowd, I will usually double recipe. I also use Catalina dressing instead of French, use sharp cheddar cheese, don't use peppers, and I also put in sliced black olives. Always remember, if you are bringingthis to a function, don't put the dressing on until right before you serve, or it will be a soggy mess.
