Cream of Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
Delicious after I made the changes suggested by others on here. Added a little more cream for a richer soup. Loved it!

Curried Wild Rice and Squash Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
Had white rice and frozen squash, but no orange juice on hand. Substituted a splash of lemon juice. Also doubled the curry powder, used fresh chives instead of onions (we're all out), and added a shake of ginger, and a pinch of cinnamon & cayenne pepper. I had some heavy cream in the fridge & added about 1/3 cup. Creamy and delicious! I'll definitely play around with this to vary the flavor in the future.

Roasted Cajun Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2008
Fantastic recipe. Followed it exactly, but cut down on cayenne since my wife isn't into spicy foods as much as I am. They came out great.

Tea Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
Very bland & boring flavor, didn't rise very much at all. I'm convinced this recipe calls for too much handling of the dough. I'd recommend NOT kneading the dough at all. I won't make this again.

Curry Beef Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2008
I made some changes so I can't really rate it a 5, but the core of the recipe stayed the same. I used 1 lb pre packaged pepper stir-fry for the veggies. For the tomatoes I used a can of diced tomatoes with zesty peppers. Other than that the recipe was the same, and it's probably the best stir-fry I have ever had.

Spinach Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2008
Very good soup, although I did not follow the recipe exactly. I used chicken sausage instead if kilbasa. Instead of using broth and water separately I boiled the sausage to cook it and used the broth from that as the base. Everything else was kept the same and the coup was fantastic.

Smokin' Scovilles Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
An awesome twist on a chili recipe. I've made this recipe multiple times and everyone loves it. It's great as-is, if you want to turn the heat down don't chop the habanero, just drop it in and pull it out when it's done cooking and cut the red pepper in half and possibly cut it out entirely. Using beef instead of turkey is also a nice alternative.

Lauren's Sugar and Spice Black Pepper Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
Great cookies, everyone that tried them loved them. Although the spice level was a little higher than expected, so next time I plan on cutting back on the cloves. Other than that they were awesome.
