About this Cook
Currently living in the northside of Chicago, I am a 24-year old college student/account rep looking to broaden my horizon in all aspects of my life. Whether its traveling to other countries or simply camping at a state park, I try to find joy in each present moment.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook desserts. Having a horrible sweet-tooth, I tend to have a lot more sweets around the house than I could possibly eat.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family was big with using the microwave, which I rarely use now-days due to the fact that I prefer stove-top cooking. It just tastes better.
My cooking triumphs
One of my best triumphs at slaving away at the stove was making a carmel-chocolate torte with my sister. It was so good that I'm sure that our neighbors heard the moaning of rapture as we nibbled our way through the whole torte.
My cooking tragedies
I have determined that I am not very good at making rice or steaming vegetables, which has to be the simplest foods to make. So, instead, my boyfriend prepares the rice and vegetables while I make the rest of the meal. I also had a bad incident with making hollandaise sauce. Six eggs later I still hadn't made it right, so I decided to stick with the ready-made packets.

Honey Peanut Granola
With some minor modification (walnuts instead of peanuts), I really enjoy this granola with yogurt or by itself. I recommend mixing in various nuts if you like a crunchier mix.

Honey Baked Chicken II
It was great! My only complaint was that the breasts shrank down significantly and we were still hungry for more!

Frozen Mudslide
Instead of using ice, I used vanilla ice cream and blew my guests away with how great it tasted. Even the manly men who would never touch "frou-frou" drinks came back for seconds. Can be dessert for those who are calorie counting.
