Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2011
Very good. However, it took 1 hour and 1/2 just to get it to rare and probably another 15 minutes or so to get it to medium.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2010
Used Chicken broth instead of beer and kidney beans instead of chili just because it is what I had on hand. Delicious!

Bread Bowls

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
These were so good! I used butter instead of shortening, just because of preference. Other than that I followed the recipe. I was worried about shaping them and having them fall flat. The did fall a tiny bit, but they still worked great for holding soup. My 6 and 5 year old thought they were the coolest things ever and ate everything up, and they are usually not soup eaters!

These were super easy to make and turned out really cute. Made these for my 5 year olds birthday, which is on Halloween and the kids loved them

Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
I did not add the sherry, because I didn't have it on hand, but it didn't need it. These were very good. I did put Ritz crackers on top per other reviews and did not like it. I think it would be better with cornflakes. My picky 2-year old ate them up. I will make these again.

Garlicky Baked Butternut Squash

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2009
This was pretty good, but not good enough to go through the work of peeling the squash, that was a horrible process and I will not make again.

Monster Cookies IV

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
These cookies are soft, thick and chewy, just how I like them. Since this is the 1st review I thought I would be thorough. I added extra graham cracker crumbs, just because I crushed too many, I probably ended up putting in about 1/2 C. I used milk chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet, because that is what I prefer and the big ghirardelli ones that taste so good. I used a 6.8 oz symphony bar for the grated chocolate because I had it on hand, but you could forgo this altogether and just add more chocolate chips, I don't think it will change it much. I also did not put any nuts in because my family hates them. I do like nuts and think that nuts would taste great in them, but they are great without. Also, if you like thick chewy cookies DO NOT grease your pan, this will cause the cookies to spread and be thinner and crispier.

Molly's Chicken

Made it exactly as recipe states and it is so good. My 4 picky eaters even gobbled it all up. I make it on a regular basis now.

Broiler S'mores

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
Awesome! I laid out all the crackers on the pan and put a marshmallow on one side and the chocolate on the other. That way they both get melted and the cracker is just the tiniest bit soft. It is like heaven, so delicious!! Will never make them over a fire again!

Banana Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
I did use whole wheat flour instead of all purpose and I also substituted apple sauce for the oil and baked them as mini muffins for about 12-15 minutes. These were very good and my kids love them. I made a large batch and stick them in the freezer and pull a few out to put in my kids lunches in the morning and by lunch time they are thawed. My kids think that they are getting a treat and I know that they are extremely good for them!

Lemon Thyme Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
I decreased the thyme as others suggested and added a little more lemon juice and I also added garlic and chopped onions to the broth. Make sure you bring it to a boil before you cover and simmer or it will not be cooked all the way after 20 minutes. It was really good and easy and I will probably never make plain rice again!

Brownie Caramel Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2009
While I was making this I realized what I like best about cheesecake is the graham cracker crust. So why was I making one with a brownie crust. If this is the case with you, don't bother making, you won't like it. With that being said, I added 1/3C oil to the brownie mix and baked for 20 minutes. I let it cook before adding the carmel and just poured that in the middle leaving a inch long edge. I 1 1/2 the cheesecake part and everything came out beautiful and everyone thought it was delicious!

Light Wheat Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
These are the best rolls! I made them once into spirals and once I just rolled into balls, both very tasty. However, the spiral ones are much prettier, but take more work, for company for sure. I also made a huge batch and partially cooked them and separated out for individual dinners and put in the freezer. Pull out in the morning to let thaw and finish cooking for dinner. Still taste fabulous!

Bake Sale Lemon Bars

I doubled the crust, because that is my favorite part in Lemon bars, other than that I did the recipe exactly and it was just so so, will not make again.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
Hands down the best chocolate chip cookie recipe ever. Never met a person who did not like them. I have had this recipe for 4 years now and I never make any other chocolate chip cookie and always get asked for the recipe. It is really good with banana pudding as well.
