Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2011
This was the best homemade cornbread I have ever eaten. The only thing I did differently was to melt the butter in an iron skillet and then poured into a bowl and mixed the rest of the ingredients. Poured the contents back in the skillet, which was already greased and baked. It only took 22 minutes to bake in an 8-inch skillet. Wonderful recipe. Will make from now on instead of Jiffy mix.

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
This is a really good recipe just as is. My husband is very picky and he really liked this. I used Town House crackers and it really topped this perfectly. Instead of using chicken breasts, I used a can of chicken breast meat. Very quick and easy.

Bologna Salad Sandwich Spread I

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
My mother made this for us growing up, and I still make today. We grind the balogna, add the eggs, diced celery, diced onion and sweet relish and miracle whip. Can't get any better than that.

Aunt Joyce's Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
I was looking for a moist dense chocolate cake and I found it in this one. This was so good I didn't even frost it. I only had semi-sweet chocolate squares so that is what I used. Didn't cut back on the sugar either but was wonderful.

Apple Butter I

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
I made a double batch of this the first time and it came out too sweet. The next time I made it I cut the sugar in half. Left everything else the same. Could be my apples were sweeter. However it is a good recipe.

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2008
This is such a good applesauce recipe. I didn't really care for the store bought applesauce, but we had a lot of apples given to us and decided to try it. Really glad I did.

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
This was very good. I changed a few things, I didn't add the tomato sauce and used 64oz. of tomato juice, added 2 cups of water and beef bouillon. Doesn't seem to be quite so acidic. Added 3 small cans of beans and used the 2 tbsp. of garlic powder. Everything else was the same. Was never able to make a really good chili and now this one seems to be. Thanks.

I thought this was very good. I shared the dumplings with several people and they all agreed that they were good. My apple were so big I had to double the crust. Ended up with 16 dumplings. The sauce made the dumplings.

Marinade for Chicken

Reviewed: May 31, 2007
This marinade is great. I was out of red wine vinegar so used white wine vinegar. I used chicken tenders and let them marinate for approximately 2 hours. They were so good. Had enough marinade left to do two steaks and some onion and peppers that I stir fried. I couldn't believe how tender the steaks were. Thank You!
