Hot Sweet Onion Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2005
I'm good friends with the the submitter of the recipe and the site gave the wrong proportions, much to her alarm. You make this with 2 cups mayo, 2 cups shredded swiss cheese and 2 cups vidalia or any sweet onion (NOT all those onions it says to use!!!)No wonder some people thought it was nasty. It's to die for when it's made correctly! I hope those people who had bad experiences will try it again.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2005
Loved it loved it loved it! Cut the recipe in half and it still fed five people. I used jarred pizza sauce and italian pork sausage. You need to find ways to sneak seasoning in there at every step. The italian sausage made a world of difference and I've made this many, many times.

Slow Cooker London Broil

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2005
What a tremendous disappointment...and i'm not terribly picky. But this had enough salt to killl someone. I love london broil but i'm sticking to having hubby put it on the Weber.

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2005
Will make you want to cry in your turkey it's so good. I used heavy cream instead of milk and although it was much more fattening, it really gave it a great flavor. I also threw some bourbon in the streusel topping last time I made it but it really doesn't need it although it added a twist on the flavor.

Hot Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2005
This is so good! For some reason our guests didn't finish it (the true hallmark of a great dip) but maybe because a little goes a long way. Don't cut corners on this...use full fat everything because it does make a difference. Just make it only once in a while instead. Very yummy

Martha's Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2005
This is amazingly good! I took the suggestion and used a pound of ground beef. I also used two cans of low sodium beef broth instead of water...big difference! I threw in a handful of ditalini pasta just to make it extra hearty. Yummy!!!! The onion soup mix is a GREAT addition! Thank you SO much for sharing this fabulous recipe! We will be making this a lot this winter!!!!

Seven Layer Dip I

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2005
Delicious! I took some of the advice and used low sodium taco seasoning in the beef. I also heated the dip at 350 until the cheese melted. There was none left! So easy to make and so good! My only pseudo problem was the sour cream is hard to spread over the beef. I think I'll use more than a cup next time. Thanks so much for sharing! I'm making it again this weekend.

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2005
This is absolutely luscious! Delicious, different and incredibly easy.I used Jiffy corn muffin mix and white creamed and white whole corn. You MUST use both sticks of butter...it does make a difference!!!! I made it the other night with one stick, thinking it might lighten it up a bit. Hubby said something was off without me even telling him. Use them both! Just eat a smaller portion. We LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe! Thanks for sharing!

Golden Rum Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
How yummy this was! Only change I made was to double the glaze and while the cake was still hot and in the pan, I took a skewer and make little holes all over the cake. I poured half of the glaze in the holes while it cooled a bit in the pan. Then I inverted the cake and poured the rest of the glaze over it. I only had light rum but it still tasted great! Thanks Jackie for sharing such a yummy recipe!

Sherry Bundt Cake

Really good! I left out the cinnamon mixture and just sprinkled the top with powdered sugar. It really is good without the sugar, cinnamon and cocoa. Will make again!

White Pizza Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
I LOVED this....but a lot of people at our party didn't care for it. Just like not everyone likes white pizza, not everyone will like this dip. However, if you DO love white pizza, this is really really good

Army SOS Creamed Ground Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
This has become a tried and true standby in our house. It's so comforting and SO good! At first I had a hard time getting my hubby to try it...it's not pretty to look at, but he's sold on it! I usually add more Worcestershire and sometimes throw in some pimentos or a hit of Tabasco. Delicious over toast and perfect now that the weather is cold. Not fancy at all....just GOOD!

Kickin' London Broil with Bleu Cheese Butter

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2005
The flavors are awesome! The cooking time was way too long. Flank steak usually is very quick to cook. Just watch your meat and it'll be okay. Can't wait to make it again! This time I'll watch it carefully!

A very nice recipe! The heavy cream does make a difference so be sure to use it. I made a batch of this as a trial run for Thanksgiving dinner. We love it and can't wait to serve it at Thanksgiving!

Cooking Light magazine's Indian Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2005
Pretty good considering you're not at an Indian restaurant. In itself, it tastes great but you can't compare it to something you'd get at your favorite Indian place. In the interest of saving time, next time I want Indian food, I'll just go out for it. That doesn't mean this isn't a good recipe though. It's just a little time consuming and doesn't taste quite the same.

Baked Potato Soup I

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2005
This was pretty good. I used Velveeta instead of cheddar. Hubby did not care for all the bacon but I loved all that bacon! It needed a LOT of seasoning up though. I'd make it again, I love how thick it is....you just have to be willing to doctor it up a bit.

Turkey Brine

Just wonderful! I used a frozen Butterball and worried it would be too salty since they're already preinjected but no worries! Makes a tremendous difference in the meat. Thanks Sheri! We'll do this again at Christmas!
