well it always seems like I am Italian, i love to cook, A LOT! And people even say my name must be italian.. and to top it all of I look Italian!
well I started cooking at about five, mixing cereals with butter and cream, making my own granola bars. My mom wasnt the cook of the family, it was my father, he was a chef for a little while, and taught me everything he knew!
I love my kitchen, but my dad passed away, so cooking isnt the same as before. But, the "duo" as we were called, still exists, for he is always in my heart!
My favorite things to cook
I absolutely love baking! I also love to work with potatoes, i dont know why, there are millions of things to do with them! twice baked is delicious! (for those who do not know, it is when you bake a potato, and you eat the inside, leaving the skin, and filling it with cheeses and anything you can think of!) I also love to cook Italian and Mexican, but i cant forget good old fashioned Polish food!
My favorite family cooking traditions
ok, who doesnt throw the noodles at the wall to see if they are done cooking? come on! Making pasta on saturday nights is one of my traditions. Everyone is in the kitchen at the table, and we all laugh and cook. Its a blast!
Another one is Christmas and Thanksgiving. The kitchen is so busy! we cook basically all day! (a big family we have) and not only our family, cousins and granparents, aunts and uncles, friends, everyone comes to our house!
My cooking triumphs
well, everyone knows the story when you want to make something for everyone, and you already have most of the ingredients in the bowl? and you say, yes! all i need is that last ingredient!? well, it wasnt there.. so i had to substitute it, and i crossed my fingers hoping it was good.. and my friends loved it! ill put the recipe on here if i can later, but im sort of busy, a big party coming up! im the cook! :)
My cooking tragedies
none yet, oh shucks, i bet everyone else has amusing ones! lol
