About this Cook
My main interest is my pets. I love them more than anything else in the world. I like to do volunteer work, mainly with animal organizations but other causes interest me also. I train animals professionally. I love cooking, it's really therapeutic, even if I frequently make mistakes.
My favorite things to cook
Soups. I lovvvvvve soups! I like making interesting marinades for barbecuing. Baking is also fun when I have the patience to wait for it to be finished.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Old Jewish cooking. And steak every Saturday night on the grill. Rain or shine.
My cooking triumphs
Whenever I make something and people actually like it and suggest that I make it again.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to recount. Burning. Undercooked, forgot an ingredient, etc. Family members messing with my recipes.. :(

Chef John's Coq Au Vin
Succulent and delish! I didn't use bacon and I added small white beans. I also only had dried thyme. Besides that, instructions were followed.

Tomato Veal Scallopini
Quick and easy, yet delicious dish. I added garlic and onion powder, and salt and pepper to the flour before dredging the veal. I also deglazed the pan with the marsala and tomatoes before pouring it over the veal in the oven safe pan. The veal came out very tender and flavorful. Mellow flavor, not too spicy. I served it over a bed of spaghetti in a pink vodka sauce.

Chicken Mole
Followed the recipe to the letter (except for using sunflower seeds instead of sesame seeds) and it turned out rather bland and lackluster. I feel like reducing the sauce may have produced better results... But the recipe didn't call for that. I also think I'd use cocoa powder next time instead of chips.
