Glazed Meatloaf II

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
Love it...but I do love meatloaf. I used 1/2 a packet of onion soup mix and 1/2 cup of bread crumbs. I forgot to add the ketchup mixture to the meatloaf...opps. So I only cooked it for 45 minutes for fear it would be dry. It was still great even after the additional 10 minutes with the sauce..and it was cooked! WHEWW! Everyone liked the sauce but now I am curious to add balsalmic..hmm! THANKS!!

Queijadas

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
Super easy recipe and I love that I don't have to make a crust for the queijada...so does my mom!! I half the sugar though because I like to sprinkle mine with powdered sugar later with my coffee. I also double the vanilla and add lemon zest...mom does this to everything!!!

Portuguese Sweet Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
This isn't your grand-ma' sweet bread because it won't give you heartburn...But it's great! I am sure if you want the EXTRA calories you could add an egg and double the butter...but I like it just fine. Mine tends to be bit well cooked but the bread machine is NEW and I'm sure that's my fault. I love my sweet bread med-rare...lol! Thanks for the recipe!!

Raisin Bread II

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2008
I didn't love this. The bread was hard the second day and then was worse the third. I need something to last a bit more. I did use butter instead of lard, maybe that was why? I like the idea of adding honey. It was good toasted with cream cheese though...sorry!!

Basic Crepes

SUPER! I added a 2 teaspoons of Rum...because my french bf says it is a must. I also put my batter in the fridge for 2 hours to chill before using. I had read to do that somewhere?

Poulet a la Saucisse

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2008
SUPER! I have made this twice and it has come out great both times. There is no cream cheese in France, so I have been using St. Moret which works well. The second time I used swiss cheese because that was all I had and it was good too. I bet cheddar would be yummy..too bad I can't find it here =( Also, I only cooked mine for 30 minutes. Thanks for the post!

Lemon Coconut Loaf

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
I changed the recipe a bit..halfed the butter and added a lemon yogort to replace it. Also I only used half the milk. It was done in 40 minutes but I lefted in for 45 (mine is a bit toasty on the egdes)!

Lighter Banana Muffins

I love this recipe. I have never had a problem with it..they always come out perfect. I do add 1 teaspoon of vanilla or lemon zest, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon and I only use 1/2 cup of sugar.

Portuguese Sweet Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
It didn't do anything for me. I was really grossed out by adding the egg once it was removed from the heat. It's just missing something. Some lemon peel maybe??

Great pasteis...I had to make more because they were gone instantly. Yummy warm with a sprinkle of cinnamon or powered sugar!
