Pork Steaks

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2012
I've tried this twice now. I didn't care for it the first time, but with all of the wonderful reviews I decided to try it again. Didn't like it the second time. All I taste is soy sauce. Sorry.

Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2012
I made this tonight for dinner. The only changes I made were to add bean sprouts at the very end for some extra crunch. Pretty good. A little bland, but I can't put my finger on what it's missing. I'll probably make it again.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2012
The only changes I made to this recipe was I used 2 (4 oz) cans of green chilies, threw in some shredded monterey jack and on the top I used panko, shredded parm and shredded monterey jack. I could have eaten the whole plate of dip myself! Excellent! This is definitely my new "go-to" appetizer. Thanks!

Tomato Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2011
This was amazing. The only changes I made was to dredge the meat in flour before I sauteed, left out the tomatoes (hubby doesn't like tomatoes) and I didn't have any beef broth so I had to use chicken broth. I used about 1-1/2 cans to replace the liquid from the tomatoes. It turned out excellent. Very easy and tasted amazing!

Chicken Jambalaya I

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2011
I made this tonight and absolutely LOVED it. I followed the advice from another reviewer who used yellow rice. I didn't have cayenne on hand I used garlic powder, bay leaves and cajun spice. I left out the hot sauce so my grandbaby could eat it, but put it on the table incase anyone wanted to add it to their plate. I doubled the batch for 4 + little one and have just enough for one bowl for lunch tomorrow. Excellent recipe! Thanks very much for sharing!

Mini Crescent Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
These were SO good. I was surprised. I used american cheese, added a dill pickle and only used 1/2 pack of onion soup mix. I also didn't cut the trianges in half. Thanks for the great idea! I know I'll make these again and again.

Red Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2008
Even though I tweaked this to our tastes, I'm rating this 5 stars because it's the perfect starter recipe. You can add more or less of whichever ingrediants you want to suit your taste. The basic idea is wonderful. Such a great change to the same old boring potato salad. Thanks so much for the idea. YUM!

Pork Chop and Cabbage Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2008
I was really excited when I ran across this recipe. I love cabbage and pork chops, but I was so disappointed. It was so bland. I even tried to spice it up with layering the salt and pepper as other reviewers had suggested, but it didn't help. My husband didn't like it either, but he's not a big fan of cabbage so that didn't really surprise me. I won't be making this again. Sorry.

Spiced Bacon Twists

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
I used thick sliced bacon, so 30 minutes didn't get it crispy, but it didn't matter, I thought these were great. Just the right amount of spice with the cayenne. I used a big baggy to mix the spices in and then threw the bacon in which made it really easy to coat it. Yum! A fun recipe. Thanks!

Chocolate Banana Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2008
I had a box of reduced sugar devils food cake mix in the cupboard that I was afraid to use....so I thought this might just add just the right thing to cover up any after taste it may have. Hubby (who is the pickiest eater alive) liked it! Ate 2 pieces the first night. I frosted it with regular canned chocolate frosting....I thought it was okay. Don't know if I'd make it again...but overall not a bad recipe.

Balsamic Bruschetta

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2008
Oh my gosh...all I can say is YUM! Made this yesterday for my family and everyone LOVED it. I thin sliced a bagette and warmed it in the oven with a little olive oil sprinkled on each piece. Served it right out of the oven with the cold bruschetta on top, it was very good. Thanks for a keeper!

Beef and Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: May 10, 2007
I'm sorry but I didn't like this at all. Which surprised me, because I love anything with tomato soup! I had to cover it with garlic powder and salt and pepper just to be able to eat it. Yuck.

Black-Eyed Pea Gumbo

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2007
I made this last night. I have to say, it's probably one of the best recipes I've tried on this site. Absolutely amazingly good. The only changes I made were to use dried peas (cooked about 45 minutes with a ham hock) and added a little cajun seasoning. It took a lot longer for the brown rice to get done, I think next time I'll use white rice, but even my 20 month old grandson loved it! Very, very good!

Pork Chops and Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2006
I made this tonight following some of the suggestions: omitted the salt, seasoned chops with garlic powder, seasoning salt, onion powder and pepper, added sliced onions to potatoes, added fresh garlic and heavy cream to sauce. Baked taters 30 min, then added chops and baked covered 30 min, uncovered 15 min. EXCELLENT! This is going into my regular rotation.
