They were O.K. I guess I wouldn't make them again. No rave reviews! That's my barometer!

Love these! They look pretty and they are easy. I make them for the holidays, place them in the freezer after they are cooked, and they come out perfectly!

Chocolate Zucchini Cake III

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2014
Winner! Even my 4 yr old grandson requested this for his birthday! What did I change??? Not much. I added a carrot just because I was shy a bit with the zucchini. I did add my new favorite addition to cakes.... two or 3 tbls of instant vanilla pudding mix. It makes every cake just a bit moist and even more delicious. I finished the cake with a cream cheese frosting that I put 1 ounce of melted unsweetened chocolate in the mix. I'm salivating about thinking of having it tonite for the birthday party!!!!

Easy Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2014
My entire family, including grandchildren loved it, so that generates a 5 star rating. Easy to make! That would give it an additional star! I did follow the recommendations of Jeanine's review. Her changes made a big difference, especially adding the taco seasoning to the cooking meat.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2014
I usually don't like to review a recipe and then change the whole thing, but I did! We don't eat coconut, nor nuts, so then I had some fresh zuchinini slices, maybe 1/4 cup, so I threw them in! My newest thing is adding 2 tbsp of Vanilla instant pudding mix into the mixture before you cook it. I have never had so many raves about a cake! I could hardly control my self from nibbling on it. I'm making it again, but this time I'm insisting that my daughter take it home because this cake could be addicting. The pudding adds some flavor, but Ohhhh the moisture is outstanding! I did this vanilla custard to a pound cake and to chocolate chip cookies. Guess it's my new favorite ingredient! Yep, I know it adds calories and sugar, but hey! as long as I've gone this far, what the heck!

Zucchini Pineapple Bread II

Reviewed: May 10, 2014
First of all, I definitely wouldn't make it again! I love baking and this was clunky, or heavy. I tasted the batter because I thought was blah so I added a tsp of cinnamon, but if I were you, find another recipe on this site. This is not memorable. I made it for Mother's day brunch, but will not use it.

Garlicky Beet Delight

Reviewed: May 3, 2014
OMG! I never would eat a beet because my Mom used to make me eat them....they are good for your blood; now we would all be laughing because I LOVE this recipe. My husband and I grew golden beets in our garden and I didn't know what to do with them...to the rescue came this recipe! The only thing I did differently is I added a bit of balsamic vinegar. They are outstanding and I make them all the time and keep them in the refrigerator. I even add them to our salads! Wonderful easy recipe!

Easy Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2013
OMG! 5 stars because it was soooooo easy and soooo good! I actually think I will make it for my super bowl party because it's so easy. I bought the Costco rotisserie chicken and we had some leftovers. I had a container of salsa.I had the cream cheese. I bought corn tortillas, and a can of refried beans and for some reason I thought I needed enchilada sauce. I purchased the milld "Hatch" green enchilada sauce. I put some in the bottom of the pan. I took my salsa and did what the recipe said to do. I followed all the remainder steps and put some more enchilada sauce on top of the rolled enchiladas, then I put it in the oven for maybe 5 minutes covered. I uncovered it after the 5 minutes, splashed the cheese (mozzarella because that was what I had!), put it back in oven for about 3 minutes uncovered, and with all these oops, it was fabulous! Definitely sent the recipe to my friends and kids with families. This is an easy recipe that is a winner!

Dorothy Lynch® Style Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2012
Spot on! Excellent to dress the chicken Fiesta Salad from this site. I would use this again on any salad! I made the whole recipe and half left over, so will keep it in the frig for another occasion. I did add 2 cloves a garlic, just because we are garlic lovers! Kids also loved it!

Chicken Fiesta Salad

We all were impressed with this summer salad! If I hadn't taken someone else's suggestion, tho, to use Dorothy Lynch style salad dressing from this site, I don't think it would have been so delicious! I would definitely make this again!

Miriam's Not-So-Secret Challah

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
Wow! So delicous and easy! I followed the recipe, but made two loafs. One loaf was traditional with the addition of sprinkling kosher salt on top before baking! What a wonderful edition. The other one I added mini chocolate chips, and again, everyone raved! I definitely did not cook it 45 minutes. Watch it at 30 minutes to make sure it wouldn't burn and that the bread sounds hollow when you tap on it!. Good luck!

Spaghetti Pie II

Reviewed: May 20, 2012
Nothing fancy, but the grandkids loved it. I give it 5 stars because I thought for what it was, it was pretty darn good! I make two at the same time, and put one in the freezer. Then I can just pull it out and heat it up. We don't like bell pepper so eliminated that. Not company type of dinner, but for the family, it's great and since I can make the mess once, freeze one, use one...that's my kind of time saving and clean up type of recipe! And if there are left overs, it's great for lunch or dinner the next nite. It heats up well.

Lemon Lover's Pound Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2012
My comments are for the icing alone! I have not tried this cake, but I use this icing on the Lemon Chiffon cake from this web site and it's just a great addition to this cake.

Lemon Chiffon Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2012
This is a WINNER! I have a lemon tree, so this was just perfect. This is the third time I have made this and it needs way more lemon juice. I would use NO water and all lemon juice!!! I did use just plain unbleached flour, and it was still light, tender and wonderful! For the icing, I used the "lemon Lover's pound cake icing from this site, and just drizzled it over the cake, put some lemon leaves under the cake for decoration along with a few slices of lemon and, wow! Picture perfect! I did put a small dab of yellow food color in the cake and also in the icing to make it look just a bit more yellow looking. It looked really professional and tasted incredible!

Passover Iced Lemon Loaf

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2012
Sounds great, but we don't use leavening like the baking powder. Did you ever try without the baking powder and soda? Just was wondering before I gave it a try! I'm rating, but I really haven't tried it, but I guess this is the only way I can put this in the review!

Sour Cream Chocolate Frosting

This is an OMG recipe!!! Excellent and delicious. I used non fat yogurt...lower in calories. That's almost a joke when making this recipe, but any calories you can save is worth it! This is absolutely delicious! It's my favorite chocolate icing now! No need to alter a thing. Just enjoy it!

Fudge Brownies I

Reviewed: May 29, 2011
I wouldn't say these were OMG brownies. They were o.k.....maybe because I took the advice of others. I am an experienced cook and baker and I don't totally agree with the other reviews. By eliminating 2 of the eggs, I felt they were dry and crumbly, and I even took them out earlier that suggested. I did add aditional cocoa, which I am glad I did, and I now add white raisins because it does make brownies slightly moister. No one knows they are inside, but they just always say that I make the best brownies! And I never tell my secret (something I learned from a caterer! I would use at least 3 eggs and maybe even the fourth if you want them more moist vs crumbly. I did use the sour cream chocolate frosting with plain yogurt vs sour cream from Allrecipes, and it was the icing on the cake! It actually made the brownies O.K.
