Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2006
This soup tasted great and was very easy to prepare. I used low sodium chicken broth instead of water (no bouillon granules on hand) and whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose. Also, I used extra lean ham and didn't need to add any salt. Good soup for a cold day!

Oatmeal Whole Wheat Quick Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2006
As suggested by another review, I doubled the recipe and baked it at 350 for an hour. I did not have any honey so I substituted it with sugar. The bread came out moist and quite dense - it hardly rose. I found that although it had a lovely smell, it was rather tasteless on its own. But when buttered and toasted, it was delicious!

Biscotti Toscani

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2006
I thought these were very tasty eventhough I had no nutmeg and didn't use the chocolate coating. The orange zest added a nice touch. I also like my biscotti rather hard, so I baked them a bit longer than the recipe called for.

David's Secret Ingredient Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2006
I thought these tasted very good. However, the cookies were too thin for my liking, and I found the texture a bit strange. Perhaps it's because I kept the rice krispies whole.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2005
This is my favourite chocolate chip cookie recipe! However, I find 2 cups of semi-sweet chips too much, so I usually only use 1 1/2 cups (half semi-sweet chocolate, half milk chocolate). Also, I love my cookies moist and chewy, so I only bake them for 14 minutes at the most. Everyone who's tried the cookies has always asked for the recipe. Just make sure you finish them within 3 days - they become quite hard after that.

Thai Noodles with Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2005
One of my boyfriend's favourite dishes. I never include snow peas, cilantro, rice vinegar, or honey, because I think the combination of the rest of the ingredients tastes good enough. Instead, I just add 2 tablespoons of Splenda and some extra chili flakes because I love a bit of spice. I also use crunchy peanut butter instead of smooth.
