About this Cook
I'm a 23 year old mother of two and a college student. I've been cooking since I was about 7. Most kids come home from school and watch cartoons, I used to come home from school and watch cooking shows! I've loved cooking since forever, there are countless stories about the many experiences/experiments that brought me to this level (Self-proclaimed gourmet chef hehe) I still experiment, and I still love watching cooking shows. I want my own!
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking Thai food, and also authentic Middle Eastern and Puerto Rican food (it's in my blood!) I experiment with Indian food and Chinese food as well. I'm not Italian but I make the best fresh ravioli in town! And even though it's the most fattening thing in the world, I make the best flan ever and it's probably my favorite thing to cook. :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family cooking tradition has always been Thanksgiving. When I was younger I loved it because every year my mom let me experiment with dessert or a side dish. I still go to my parent's house for Thanksgiving, and I still make dessert every year.
My cooking triumphs
The first time I ever made a cheesecake that didn't crack (I was about 16) I was so excited that I took a picture of it.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list! One time when I was little I tried to make a loaf of bread by mixing flour and water and putting it in the microwave. Needless to say it was a disaster, the microwave oven was smoking and the 'bread' looked like it was breathing. My family still teases me about that. And there was the time I made 'spaghetti' out of ramen noodles and katchup... hehe I was about 7, but I've much improved since then hehe :)

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes
The batter seemed to thick at first but after throwing the first pancake away I lowered the cooking temperature and found that at a lower temperature the batter thins out and spreads itself in the pan. This is a nice easy recipe, however I didn't follow it exactly. I only made a few small alterations. I halved the salt, I used vanilla sugar instead and doubled the ammount, and I used 1 1/2 cups of canned evaporated milk as I was out of regular milk. It added a rich flavor to the background... really nice. :) If they were cooked outside and undone inside (as was stated in a previous review) it's not that the batter is too thick, the fire is most likely too high.
