Creole Seasoning Blend

Reviewed: Mar. 20, 2010
Yoewzer! Made this tonight - put just 2 table spoons paprika and only 1 of salt (I don't use very much salt in anything) and it smells soooo good. Can't wait to use this - will have to find some suitable recipes !

Manhattan Clam Chowder II

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2007
This was excellent. I made it with 3 cans of clams and it was really too many - 2 cans probably would have been fine. I also added 2 stalks celery chopped up, and 3 cloves crushed garlic. Next time I will probably also add a bay leaf or two, and possibly fill the clam stock to 3 cups with white wine instead of regular water. I simmerred with the lid off - this lead to thicker consitency than I think I would have gotten with the lid on. I think this would make an excellent base recipe for any chowder. Next time, I will try it with fresh calamari and large shrimp.

Creamy Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2007
This was tough to make in a slow cooker. Required a lot of attention to keep the potatoes and cheese from congealing together. Sort of defeats the "set it and forget it" recipes that makes the slow cooker so useful.

Wendy's Indian Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2006
This was easy, and a one pot meal if you ignore the food processor. Great for an introduction to Indian food if you want to expose your family to new culture.

Mushroom in the Middle Meatloaf

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2006
This one was great but quite a heavy meal. Make sure you serve with a light salad when everyone is really hungry!

Slow Cooker Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2006
This recipe was great! REALLY easy to make and a good first impression on a first date! (I left out the garlic and onion powder for good reason!) I believe that this could be construed as "Chicken a la King" in some areas of the world. I used 3 nests of angel hair pasta substituted for the ramen noodles. It came out creamy, thick, and very rich. Great with some crusty French bread and a bottle or two of cold white wine.
