About this Cook
Im 24 and live in the Manchester UK. I love to mess in the kitchen, throwing things in pans and seeing what happens. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't but it's fun! Many of the things I make are my Mums recipes she has passed on most of it traditional English food good for cold winter evenings. I love to cook for people and love trying new things. I spend a lot of time mooching through the recipes on here (never at work of course haha) looking for something that catches my eye, there are a lot of them. But time permitting I'm actually making my way through the list of recipes I've added to my box and so far most things have been things I would cook again.
My favorite things to cook
Hearty stews. Soup family fave at the moment it potato and leek. Tex Mex. Old favourites like spaghetti bolognaise, meat and potato pie, sunday roasts. I love to cook things in quantities where I have left overs to freeze, it makes things a lot easier mid week if you dont have much time.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking from scratch is a big thing for us. We dont tend to use jars or bottles of sauces we make our own. Many of the things I love to cook are recipes passed on from my mum and gran in the time honoured tradition of not being written down just passed on and memorised.
My cooking triumphs
My First roast dinner. My first Souflee rising perfectly. Making shortbread on my own when I was 12. Making gorgeous cakes for home and work. I consider anything other people like a triumph so there have been a few.
My cooking tragedies
I get very dissapointed if things dont work out the way they should. Which can often lead to me throwing it away. Expensive fish falling apart in the pan, I have no idea why I did everything it said to do it just didnt work out.

Campbell's Kitchen Broccoli and Cheese Casserole
This was quite nice, deff a side dish as it seemed very rich to me. Broccoli still had bite the way I like it. Thankyou for the recipe. Haven't made it since but that isn't to say I wont.

Ann's Shrimp Etouffee
I made this a while ago and I dont know if it was something I did or if it is just the way an Etoufee should be but we weren't too keen on it here. But that could be personal preference rather than a reflection on the recipe.
