Awesome Carrot Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
awesome indeed. i subbed 3/4 applesauce for the oil like the other readers and didn't use raisins and these came out pretty good. next time i might run the batter through the hand blender to incorporate the shredded carrots better, but awesome as is. my 1-year-old liked a lot too.

Brown Sugar Oatmeal Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2007
this was pretty good. i didn't have milk, so used half and half as another reviewer suggested. they came out pretty good, although it was hard to tell when cooked because they turn very darm brown. a few were undercooked and a few were burnt. but the ones that came out right were delicious.

excellent. i used a little less cumin and a little more garlic. it was excellent and easy. brought to a party, no one missed the tahini.

Sour Cream Pound Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2007
excellent. i like to make recipe and split into 4-5 mini loaves. then it only needs to cook for a little over a 1/2 hour and you have plenty to share or freeze!

Sweet and Sour Dipping Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2007
very good. i make it often with tofu/veggie stir fry. have made without oil when i ran out, it came out pretty good still. made once with white wine, when out of white wine vinegar... it was too sweet. when made as recipe directs, very yummy.

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2006
very good! chicken was moist and flavorful. cooking times were perfect. i used 5 chicken breasts instead of six and had plenty of sauce, but would probably make more next time for drizzling on rice and vegetables.

Scarlett's Best Ever Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2005
The first time I made this I messed up and used a cup too much butter and everyone loved them! They were difficult to bake though and crumbled too easily. The next time I made them I followed the recipe except used dark brown sugar instead of light, and made them very tiny, so I only had to cook them for 6 1/2 minutes and it made a lot more. They tasted great and the small size was nice, I brought to a house with children, and they liked being able to grab a handful of cookies. I will make again.

White Chocolate and Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2005
Great recipe, although both times I made it I used semisweet choco chips instead of white, and everyone thought they were great. I brought them to a party and received a lot of compliments. I used brandy once and vanilla once and it came out great both time, but I think I like it with the brandy better.

Cheese Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2005
Perfect quick lasagna recipe. Second time I made it I browned a pound of ground beef in saucepan before adding sauce - and the sauce I use (whole foods marinara sauce) had just the right amount of seasonings, so I didn't need the Italian seasoning. I also used whole wheat noodles once and it was still very good. Great, easy homemade lasagna.

Mom's Ginger Snaps

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2005
These cookies are wonderful! I followed recipe exactly and came out perfect. I made a batch to freeze for a party and left a few out for my husband and by the next afternoon he was asking me to make more. I find cooking for 10min is best. 12 minutes makes them very hard and "snappy", but I prefer a bit of chewiness. I also refrigerated the dough for a few minutes before dropping onto cookie sheet.

Cornbread Muffins I

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2005
Great recipe! I have never made as muffins, but have made twice, once as one big loaf, and another time I split the batter for two average size loaves. Both times it was great, but needed more cooking time than muffins of course. I used this cornbread in a cornbread stuffing recipe this Thanksgiving and it turned out great.

David's Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2005
I have made this a few times now and it always comes out perfect. It is very easy and wonderful with a chocolate frosting. Once I made this and transported it on a 6 hour carride and served it the next day at dinner and it was just as delicious as when i served it the same day.
