Nana's Slow Cooked Meaty Tomato Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2013
i have made this 4 times now.. it is fabulous!! i added a bit of sugar because i prefer some extra sweetness but this is by far the best sauce i have ever made! EVER!! we are having it for dinner tonight, and I love that it is slow cooker because there is no splatter mess all over the stove and it is cooked to perfection at the end of the day when I get home from work. thanks for sharing

Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2011
I doubled the recipe to 8 but I believe there was enough for 16 so I brought half to work and my work mates inhaled it today. This recipe came out wonderfully!! It was like those caky blueberry muffins with the crumble muffin tops. oh so yummy. The only down side is that I'm afraid that each serving must have over 500 calories with all the butter and sugar but what a wonderful treat and great way to use up the blueberries off of my back yard blueberry bush. Thanks for this recipe.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2011
WOW!! that about sums this one up. the only changes I made were I exchanged sherry for chardonnay because I didn't have any sherry in the house . My husbands eyebrows rose high on the first bite and I had to fight him off from taking seconds so that we could have enough for a second meal. This one instantly goes onto my personal top ten!

Kielbasa and Cabbage

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2010
my Husband gave it 4 stars, but I give it 5 stars. YUM revisions: I didn't have pepper flakes or caraway seed so i added 1/2 tsp of coriander seed, and 1/4 tsp of ground cayenne pepper. I also added one sliced carrot and 4 small peeled and diced potatoes. I pre cooked the potatoes in the microwave for 4 minutes and added them last to the pot. This is a sensational recipe!!! thank you. Lisa

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2010
trying to be healthier i used 2 boneless chicken breast and sliced them length ways into 1 inch thick strips. I mixed the ingredients up in square glass dish and layed the chicken in the dish. covered and baked for 1 hour, then uncovered and baked for another 10 minutes. I served with white rice and peas.. this was delicious. the sauce was dribbled over the rice and the curry just made the recipe a 7 star. it was yummy.. I did make one change. I used half the butter asked for and it was plenty buttery.

Butternut and Apple Harvest Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2009
this is the first squash soup I have ever made and it is supreme!! I increased the recipe to 12 servings because I wanted to have enough for both my mom and mother in law, and some to freeze. it was enough to feed a party of 30 people which is good to know for future potlucks. changes I made were minimal. I only used on large potato and one large sweet potato. I also added about a 1/2 to 1 tsp cayenne pepper and 1 tsp of cinnamon. one other change I made is that I used buttercup squash instead of butter nut squash because it was all I had growing in the garden. I will make this soup again and again. it is a Keeper . My mom called and said that she didn't want to insult me by telling me she didn't like squash but she tried it any way and proceeded to eat 2 bowls full loving it. Thanks CYNJNE.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
I have made this pie about 5 times now... every time it has turned out perfectly. sometimes I make it with left over turkey or chicken in which I don't boil it prior to adding it in. some times i have to use bullion which i have even used beef bullion instead of chicken broth because it was all I had in the house and it turned out just as wonderful. I made this for a christmas family gathering and many people asked me for the recipe. This I a Major Keeper

Mexican Rice III

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2006
this was and excellent recipe to go with any mexican theme. I added a can of black bean to add some color and texture and everyone loved it.. I think next time I will add more jallapinos because one didn't really add enough spiceyness and my family likes things mild. thanks for the contribution

Sunday Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2005
I started making this recipe about a year ago and every one who tries them can't stop eating them. I freeze them to keep them handy. I use two packets of yeast and let mix and rise in my dough machine. Then I pour out onto my floured board and cut into roll pieces. I place in a pan and let it rise. then cook for about 12 minutes. it always comes out perfect. thank you soo much. I have yet to try it the way the recipe calls for.. I'm just too impatient
