Slow Cooker Tender and Yummy Round Steak

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
This was really good and the meat was so tender. I added a can of mushrooms just because I like them. Be sure to use low sodium soup or it will turn out salty. Next time I will add the carrots and potatoes half way through cooking time because they were too mushy for us.

Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
This chili was perfect for a cold night. While I cooked the turkey meat, I added the onions and garlic. I didn't mash the kidney beans and added a can of black beans and corn. Instead of water, I used chicken broth. You have to tweak this recipe to your liking with the spices.

Blueberry Cherry Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
This was pretty good. I reduced the amount of cinnamon and sugar and used vinalla and lemon juice. I will try this again , but without the cinnamon. I didn't like the cinnamon-fruit combo.

Green Bean and Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2007
I used 3 cans of green beans and 2 cans of potatoes, low sodium cream of chicken and about 1 1/2 c of cheese. I would suggest you season to your liking or it will turn out a little bland. I added onion and garlic powder and pepper. I cooked this for about 1 hour because it didn't look done after 30 mins. Turned out pretty good and I will make this again. My 15 month old really liked it. May try fresh green beans and potatoes next time.

Lentil and Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2007
I was excited about eating this until I added the pasta and saw how thick it became. However, the flavor was good and it was very easy to make.

Black Pepper Beef and Cabbage Stir Fry

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2007
Tasty 1 skillet meal and pretty quick to make. I added mushrooms and beef broth, but I still thought something was missing. Next time I will add carrots and more spices.

Tasty Meat Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2007
This turned out really good. I used ground turkey and I suggest that you season it to your liking. I used tomato and cream of mushroom soup. Also added a can of peas and corn. Cook the potatoes and carrots a little before adding them to the mixture to soften them. Next time I will make this in a casserole and add pie crust on top. My 5 year old and 13 month old really like this.

Basic Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2007
I made this in my crock pot and it turned out great. I used 2 cartons of low sodium chicken broth, almost an entire turkey ham, carrots, onions, celery, bay leaves, mustard powder and pepper. Cooked on high for about 7 hours and served with cornbread. Be sure to soak the beans over night.

No Time to Cook Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
My family loved this. I used chicken thighs instead of breast. I also added 1/2 a pack of onion soup mix, seasoned the chicken before adding the soup and added a small can of mushrooms because I like them. Served with rice and salad. I poured a little sauce on the rice. Very easy and good.
