I vote homemade pizza gets a food group to itself!
About this Cook
I'm a wife and hockey mom to 2 quickly growing boys. My cooking has come a long way, but has oh so far yet to go! I love watching the food network and dreaming that my Hamburger Helper has hidden gourmet qualities because I add onion salt and Velveeta. But overall, if a recipe's easy, good, and has some nutritional value for my family...I'm in!
My favorite things to cook
I love a good slow cooker meal and just about any cookies!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Hot's a Midwest thing.
My cooking triumphs
My family is not starving - I think that's an accomplishment, right?
My cooking tragedies
We're only given 1,000 characters for this one - are you kidding? I'm afraid that just isn't enough space for a girl who can burn instant pudding.

Baked Spaghetti
My family loves this recipe - it's a staple for us! In fact, I've increased the recipe (a lot) and fed it to our football team - rave reviews every time!

Monster Cookies VI
When my husband announced these were the best cookies he'd ever had, this became my new go-to! I followed another suggestion and used 2 cups quick cook oats, 2 cups old fashioned oats, and 1/2 cup flour. I had minis M n M's so I used a little over a cup of those, a cup of mini chocolate chips and another 1/2 cup of regular chocolate chips. Using an ice cream scoop worked perfectly - and they didn't spread out much at all. Super yummy though!

Slow Cooker Barbecue Goose Sandwich
I've been married to a hunter for 19 years. Now I'm the mother of hunters as well. This is the very first time I've enjoyed goose - Seriously! I doubled the recipe, and cut a head of garlic in half rather than chopping, so I would get the flavor, but could take the garlic out before serving. And, because I just couldn't believe I'd like the goose, I put a small pork roast on top of it in the crock pot. Covered the goose in chicken broth and half the pork. When it was done, I shredded it all together and guess what - liked the goose better!! Next time I'll skip the pork. Unbelievable. I want more goose! Is there a chance this would even make duck palatable?
