Pasta Fagioli Soup II

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2013
Based on other reviews I also substituted Italian sausage for the bacon and made these other adjustments as well, used additional chicken broth inplace of the water, used frozen spinach ilo canned and eliminated the garlic power and only used 1 tbs of fresh garlic. Served with parmesan and the family loved it.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2013
The hardest part about making these mushrooms is making enough. They are always the first thing gone when I have an appetizer party. The second most difficult part is getting the cooked garlic smell out of my house before the guests arrive. I will try the "make ahead method" someone outlined in their review to minimize the scent.

Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2013
I made this using the cajun spice recipe from this site titled, "Cajun Spice Seasoning in a Jar" for my gluten free sister's birthday. I was able to find sauage that was also gluten free. Everyone at the party raved about the flavor, texture and how filling it was.

Healthy Pumpkin Cranberry Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2013
Very good healthy option. Will it replace my other pumpkin muffins with more oil and eggs? No but I will continue to make them when I have a health conscience guest. I rate these a 5 star for what they are, a healthy option recipe.

October Oatmeal Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2013
Made the recipe as stated but was hungry for "Morning Glory" type muffins so I added 1/2 cup each of currants, chopped pecans and coconut. Baked at 375 for 25 minutes and ended up with 12 regular sized, nicely domed muffins. Will make more to freeze for school morning breakfasts. Rated it a 4 star because I'm not a huge nutmeg fan but I added it anyway because I always follow a recipe the first time, next time I will either not use the nutmeg or decrease the pie spice, not sure which, maybe I should have another just to be sure! :)

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
I made these sandwiches for a party and served them with bleu cheese dressing and crumbled bleu cheese on top. The only change I made each time thereafter was that I used both breasts and thighs for more flavor and texture.

Kansas City Steak Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2005
We love this soup. I added 2 pounds of round steak (my husband is a meat eater) and didn't have the carrot or celery on hand, but the frozen veggies made up for it. Next time I'll try adding potatoes to the mix.
