Banana Split Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2014
I have made this bread two times. The first time I followed the recipe, minus the nuts, and it was delicious. The second time, I substituted blueberries (1 cup) for the chocolate chips, still leaving out the nuts. That was BEYOND DELICIOUS!! I encourage you to try it!!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2014
It kind of cracks me up that the description says that this roast "makes its own gravy." Um... the gravy is what you're adding when you dump in the mushroom soup. It is a delicious recipe, though!

Made this with liquid sweetener instead of sugar. Loved it!

Sausage Frittata

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2014
This was pretty good. I added some onions and mushrooms and was pleasantly surprised. I expected it to have a stiff "crustiness" about the outside, but was happy to see that it didn't form one.

Swedish Meatballs (Svenska Kottbullar)

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2014
This was amazing! I followed the recipe, except for one thing. I am low-carb dieting, so I substituted a little Diet Dr Pepper for the brown sugar. (like an ounce or two) I also used Healthy Life bread, instead of regular white. My husband is not usually very vocal when he likes something, but he was raving about this one. He loved it, and told me, "I'll fight you for the last 4 meatballs." :) I served it without any kind of starch. Instead, I sautéed some zucchini and onions with a little butter and tomato vinegar. Those were stellar, too! Overall, a really GREAT meal. :)

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2014
Love this recipe! Braising has become my new favorite method for preparing delicious chicken. This is a diet recipe that is so good that you'll even make it when you're not dieting. My husband loves it, too!

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2014
Followed the instructions to a T. We had a 2.59-lb. roast. The second round in the oven went about 40 minutes. I think next time I will do about 35 minutes. It was DELICIOUS! My husband was really raving about it. He loved it, and so did I!!

Cream of Wheat Griddlecakes

My husband is not a sweets eater, so I was really surprised when he raved about these. He absolutely loved them! I made them exactly as the recipe states.

Dill Pickle Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2014
This was pretty good. I would make sure to get your pickles diced up nice and small for the glaze. I also would consider using 1.5 pounds of beef and adjusting seasonings accordingly, except for the pickle juice. The juice was tasty in there, but it also made for a sloppy, loose meatloaf. I think you could safely add the extra meat without losing the pickle flavor.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread II

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2014
Delicious! I followed the directions, except to add about 50% more raisins. It was just like the SunMaid bread. I also made another loaf using dried cherries. It was awesome!

Taco Pizza

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2013
I admit it. I skipped making the dough and bought a crust from the store. I also switched the ground beef out for chicken. I cheated on that, too, and got the fajita chicken that's already cooked, because I was in a big hurry to eat!! It was delicious! When it came out of the oven, I topped it with diced fresh tomatoes, lettuce, crunched up tortilla chips, and a little more salsa. DELICIOUS!!

Buttermilk Strawberry Shortcake

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2013
Absolutely delicious! My husband doesn't like desserts that are too sweet, so I thought this might be a good option. I made it without brushing the tops of the biscuits before baking, and it turned out great! I also only made 1/4 of the recipe, because I didn't need 12 biscuits for just the 2 of us. The texture was perfect!! The inside was soft, and the outside had a delicious crunch to it. I paired it with frozen mixed berries, because I didn't want to make a trip to town for fresh strawberries. The berries in combination with that crunch were just amazing. Ask my husand... he listended to me rave about it the entire time we were eating. :)

It was good. Nothing to write home about, but it was good. Not sure it's worth the extra effort and cost to make it, instead of buying it, though.

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2012
Fantastic! I followed the recipe, leaving out the celery (because I despise it!) and substituting beef broth for the veggie broth (because I didn't' have it.) It was delicious! My husband loved it, too, and it's not common for him to remark about how good something is, but he did with this, several times!

Spooky Witches' Fingers

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2012
Pretty gruesome for Halloween! I used slices of almonds for the nails with red gel icing under the almonds after baking. Make sure you roll them skinny or they will turn out too fat. They WILL spread while baking.
