About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I must say I am a master at baking cookies, especially chocolate chip. Everyone begs me to bake for them. I love making Turtle Cookies. They're basically sugar cookies with a dollop of caramel, 4 pecans and a dollop of chocolate on top. Mmmm, mmmm, tasty! And pretty too!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family doesn't really have many cooking traditions. The thing that sticks out most in my mind is going to grandma's house every Sunday for fried chicken, mashed potatoes, homemade cole slaw, green beans, and lots of other really good things. :)
My cooking triumphs
I don't have any "triumphs".
My cooking tragedies
Hmmm. Which ones to pick? There was the time I dropped a bowl of nacho cheese, and it cracked on the floor and shot burning hot cheese all over my leg. There are the many batches of cookies that have fallen flat. Just recently, I scorched a turkey beyond recognition.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies
These were definitely fudgy! I baked them for almost 15 minutes longer, and I still wish I had more time to bake them a little longer. However, they were delicious! Best enjoyed with a scoop or two of ice cream to offset some of the fudginess. If you want a fudgy brownie, I don't think it can get any fudgier than these, unless you grab a spoon and eat the batter! :)

Linda's Monster Cookies
I substituted peanut butter for the full amount of margarine. Then, I flip-flopped the amounts for chocolate chips and M&M's, because who doesn't love M&M's? Brought these to my bowling league night and they disappeared! I also had requests for the recipe. I had left some at home for my husband, who doesn't like sweets that much, and he ate them up quickly! I would call this recipe a definite success!!

Spicy Unstuffed Cabbage
This was really good. I made a half recipe, using only sausage, but it was Italian sausage. I recommend using a regular sausage. I also think I would like a little more cabbage in it next time, but I'll probably have to adjust the liquid if I do that. I am one of those people who prefers veggies to meat, though, so it's probably just me. Smells amazing while cooking, and I think if I make those adjustments, I'll love it!
