Juat a bit too different, although my kids did ask for doubles.

Honey Cornbread

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2005
Really good! I found it a bit too sweet. Since the honey gives great flavor, I'd cut the white sugar in half. Works fine with milk instead of cream.

Terrific! I used fresh beets which I cooked for 25 minutes, reserving the liquid for the recipe. Worked great!

Fantastic! My husband (who dislikes mustard), my kids and my guests were wild over this. Makes far too much dressing however, cut the amounts.

Irish Eggs

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2005
Really good! I found that salt and pepper had to be added, and I did a 2/3 ratio for potatoes to eggs. My family loved it.

Bourbon Pecan Chicken

Fantastic, but have mercy on your arteries. I cut the fat in the sauce from 3/4 cup to 2 T. and then doubled the other ingredients and it was great!

Sweet Potatoes

Excellent! The first time I made it I had no apricots so I left them out, and it was still wonderful. The next time, I used canned peaches, dribbling the syrup over the dish, and it was really special. Thanks!

Really good. You MUST cook the yams first, and it's a good idea to double the sauce. A keeper.

Quinoa Side Dish

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2005
My first time trying quinoa. This dish had great flavor! I sauteed the onion and mushrooms (which I added) before browning the quinoa, and it was a good move. Update: I've tried this same recipe with bulgur and it was fabulous!

Babe Ruth Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2006
Very good. I used four cups of crushed cornflakes, it gave the bars a smoother texture. These are very sweet - you may want to reduce the corn syrup a bit.
